What Really Happened to Titanic Victims in the Water:

1. Water Temperature:
• When Titanic sank, the water was about -2°C (28°F)—cold enough to cause severe hypothermia within minutes.

2. Cause of Death:
• Most victims didn’t drown immediately—they died from cold shock and hypothermia.
• Within 10–15 minutes, many lost consciousness and died, their bodies left floating and stiff in the icy sea.

3. Frozen and Rigid Bodies:
• In such cold temperatures, the human body can freeze into a rigid posture, and the skin can turn pale or bluish.
• Survivors and rescuers from the Carpathia (the rescue ship) reported finding victims floating in upright positions, with frozen expressions and stiff limbs—very similar to what the movie portrays.

4. Frozen Hair and Clothing:
• Like in the image, victims’ hair and clothing often froze, creating an eerie, statuesque appearance.
