Emotional labor takes its toll
You anticipate needs. You carry the weight. You smooth conflict.
This is especially true for women who learned early that being needed meant being safe.
It’s the fear of letting people down.
Meanwhile, your nervous system never gets to rest.
You keep showing up.
You keep functioning.
You keep managing the world and everyone else's needs around you.
And inside, you’re running on fumes.
This doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’ve been carrying too much.
You’re allowed to be supported too

Staying active doesn’t have an age limit. A walk with a friend. A morning stretch. Water aerobics. Dancing. Staying active as we age doesn’t have to mean an intense workout movement can be something you genuinely enjoy.

Regular physical activity can help older adults maintain strength, balance and mobility while supporting overall well-being and independence.

This week, find a way to keep moving that feels good for you. Explore our guide to exercise and active aging: https://www.caring.com/resources/exercise-guide-for-seniors-in-assisted-living-communities
