Good morning, I am not only posting this for my own business but also advocating for all of food truck owners.
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts on Facebook and TikTok lately about how “expensive” it is to eat from a food truck, and I wanted to share a little perspective from the other side of the window. ❤️
What many people don’t realize is how much actually goes into putting a homemade, restaurant-quality meal in your hands.
It’s not just the cost of the meat and ingredients. There’s food prep, propane, fuel, packaging, equipment, maintenance, permits, licenses, insurance, taxes, commissary and operating expenses, credit card fees, and all of the other overhead that comes with running a food business.
And then there’s the time. A LOT of time goes into preparing, smoking, cooking, packaging, loading, setting up, serving, and cleaning up.
At Remi’s BBQ, I work hard to give my customers the very best food I possibly can while keeping my prices reasonable. ❤️ I’m not trying to make a huge profit off of every plate. In fact, the profit left over after all of the expenses can be surprisingly small.
I completely understand that eating out can be expensive, and everyone has a budget. But the next time you see a food truck price and think, “That’s too much,” just remember there’s a whole lot more behind that plate than what you see.
When you support a small food business, you’re not just paying for a meal. You’re helping support the people, time, work, and expenses that make that meal possible.
And for those of you who continue to support Remi’s BBQ — THANK YOU. 🐾❤️🔥 It truly means more than you know.
