An ode to our most recent wine dinner…
and an update on a slight and very exciting shift for our next one!
We have been very busy over here JOY BAR gearing up for summer fun with all sorts of summer fun coming soon. Sundays on the Green with yoga, artists markets and phenomenal music, ongoing live music every Wednesday, expansion of lunch and more soon to be announced.
But, let us take a moment to share the delightful food and wine we served at our May wine dinner featuring Southern France.
-welcome course-
fresh Atlantic oysters paired beautifully with the refreshing, mineral notes of Picpoul de Pinet, made of grapes grown just beyond the coastal lagoons of southern France
-salad course-
shaved asparagus and radish salad topped with Von Trapp Mad River Blue was highlighted by slightly chilled Les Grenadines red
-main course-
bouillabaisse, a saffron laced seafood stew with haddock, littlenecks, PEI mussels, shrimp and crusty baguette paired with the delightful Mare Nostrum rosé
-dessert course-
Von Trapp Oma, crusty baguette, roasted figs and honey along with Jeff Carrel’s Les Darons
and a slightly off region Trou Normand with a VT twist (Normand hole, a northern French traditional after dinner treat of apple brandy and sorbet, here with VT vanilla)
Our next wine dinner will be held 7/2 and will feature a fantastic, small family run American winery out of Oregon, Teutonic Wine Company
An enormous thank you to Robert and Vermont Wine Merchants for helping us host such special evenings
