Hey everyone! long time no see.
Hope everyone is doing great. This post unfortunately is NOT bringing the very anticipated news of us reopening. We are definitely moved beyond the bakery life. But, as you all may recall 5 years ago Vern (our co-owner, baker, delivery driver, and owners husband) passed away. His daughter ( me, Eva Nicole) is trying to win a memorial tattoo for my dad. I am tied for first place. Would anyone please go to the link and like my comment under that post, that is all you would need to do. It would be so very much appreciated. I have been wanting a tattoo for him for years and just couldn't afford it. Now, I have a chance to win one. I just wanted to make a post as we tend to get quite a few messages asking if we are thinking of coming back or if we have started baking out if the house yet, and unfortunately as of this time we do not see us coming back in any form for the foreseeable future. Our lives have pulled us in very different directions and down new paths.

I want to thank you all again for the years of support and patronage and allowing us to be a part of some of your special memories.

Well, the front room has been cleared out. What was left has been taken to the thrift stores. Our gas has been turned off and out fridge and freezer are gone.
This will probably be the last post unless we start working out of the house.

This is so bittersweet.
You all have no idea how much we appreciate each and every one of you.

Okay tomorrow afternoon we are going to be taking a bunch of stuff to the thrift stores, if you want anything please let us know. (larger furniture not got sale, green chair is for sale)

We are selling all pans for $1-3/ea depending on size, then the really big ones are $4.

What thrift stores do you recommend? I'd prefer one where the money really goes to helping someone.

We are starting to get some of our supplies out for sale. Pans, sprinkles, dough hooks for kitchen aid. Some fancy rolling pins, Exc. Bunch of random stuff. Give us a call or swing by! We are going to be bringing out different stuff over the next week as we go thru things. We have to be out of the building by March 15th. So we'd like it all gone by the 10th.

We do have a fridge / freezer and two stainless steel tables that people have asked to hold to come look at, but if they don't sell they will be available as well.

For sale :

Any crafters out there? We have some tulle, a ton of ribbon and bling we are selling. A 2.5" circle hole-punch also.

We also have some character shape pans we had in storage, will need to be washed. Which we can do for you if you pick some out. And some random things from our front room are for sale as well.
We will update more as we come across stuff.

Okay everyone. The time has come, we are no longer taking orders.

Please continue to follow us, we are going to look into the cottage laws and see about working out of the house. We are having some hoa issues at this point, but may have a way to make this happen. It may be a few months before you hear anything though.

We will be selling supplies throughout the next, couple weeks in our front room (not set up quite yet though).

This comes with a very heavy heart to announce the closure of The Custom Cake Shoppe. This was not an easy decision to come to but it is never the less, time.

For over 35 years we have been a Hampton Roads staple. We have been a part of so many of your special occasions. We are told almost daily of how we have been (so lucky to be) a part of your history, memories, and lives. We get to reminisce with you in stories of those fun and funky cakes we createdfor you. We get to hear about the huge smiles our art has caused. We have truely become family with many of you.

I can not fully express the gratitude I have for each and every one of you.

We will be open through the end of February and we do expect a large influx in orders for one final experience of our cakes. If you would like to order something, please give us a call and we will put you on the books for one last time.
