Some Friendships are built one breakfast at a time.
For almost 20 years, Robert Misfeldt has been enjoying breakfast and lunch at Mary’s. And for the past 10 years, we’ve had the joy of watching his daughter, Vaeda, grow up with us, too.
Robert and Vaeda live in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach, but they never mind making the drive to the Oceanfront to see their favorite server, Carin. And Vaeda never arrives empty-handed! Over the years, she’s brought Carin beautiful drawings, friendship bracelets, stickers, and other little gifts that mean so much.
Robert’s go-to breakfast. The WRV Bagel — 2 eggs any style on a toasted bagel with bacon, ham, or sausage, melted cheese, and a breakfast side.
And then there’s the “Vaeda Special,” created especially for her: half of a Belgian waffle and 2 slices of bacon!
But when Robert talks about why he keeps coming back to Mary's, it’s not just for the food, t’s for the people who work at Mary's. He makes sure to mention Carin, Joy, Penelope, Brooke, and Nicole — the servers who have made both Robert and Vaeda feel welcomed and loved every time they walk through our doors.
Robert said it best:
“Every restaurant can make food, but at Mary’s you always have a sense of belonging.”
Robert and Vaeda, thank you for choosing Mary’s for so many years. We are grateful for your business, but even more grateful for the friendship, memories, drawings, bracelets, smiles, and countless meals we’ve shared along the way.
