Hello everyone! I’m excited to introduce myself (Lal Chakraborty) as the new owner of Craig’s Cake Shop.

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind — getting to know the bakery, learning the day-to-day process, meeting customers, and working alongside the wonderful Craig’s Cake Shop team. It has been busy, but also incredibly rewarding.

I know ownership changes can feel unsettling, especially for customers who already have wedding cakes or other special orders booked with us. I want to reassure you that the same talented staff is still here, the same recipes are being used, and the same process is continuing. Most importantly, we will honor all existing orders, deposits, and commitments.

I’d also like to take a moment to recognize Elisa and Andy, who built Craig’s Cake Shop into such a beloved part of this community. Through their hard work and dedication, they created a bakery that has been part of so many birthdays, weddings, celebrations, and family traditions. I’m honored to carry that legacy forward and build upon what they created.

Some of you may also know me as the owner of Overt Space Gallery & Gifts in Stoughton. I’ve called Madison home for the past 28 years, and as a father of two daughters, I know how meaningful birthdays, weddings, graduations, and family celebrations can be. I’m grateful to now be part of Craig’s Cake Shop and look forward to continuing its tradition of being part of your special moments.

Farewell from The Romanowich Family…and Welcome to our New Owner!

After 7½ incredible years, it is with a full heart that we share that we have sold our cake shop to a new owner.

What began as a dream became so much more than a business. It became a place where we celebrated life’s sweetest moments together—birthdays, weddings, graduations, baby showers, anniversaries, retirements, and countless other milestones. We have been honored to be a small part of your special memories, and for that, we are deeply grateful.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to our amazing team. The talent, creativity, dedication, and heart they brought to the cake shop each and every day are what made our success possible. From the long days and busy holidays to the countless cakes, cupcakes, and desserts crafted with care, they poured their passion into everything they did. We are so proud of what we accomplished together and incredibly grateful for the friendships, memories, and unwavering commitment they shared throughout the years! We are excited to follow their journeys and see what they create in this next chapter for the cake shop!

To our loyal customers, thank you for trusting us with your celebrations and allowing us to do what we love every day. Your support, kind words, referrals, smiles, and encouragement have meant more than you will ever know.

To our community, thank you for embracing us, supporting local small business, and making our cake shop feel like home. The relationships we have built over the years are truly what we will cherish most.

While this chapter is coming to a close for us, we are excited for the future of the bakery under its new ownership. We know the shop will continue creating beautiful cakes, sweet treats, and wonderful memories for years to come.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey. We leave with immense gratitude, countless memories, and appreciation for every person who walked through our doors.

This Craig’s Cake Shop team 🥰…they dedicated their hearts and souls to creating the most beautiful cakes and small desserts for weddings, birthdays, large corporate events, showers, graduations and more during a ‘MEGA MAY’ month 🤩!

From over 1500 small desserts for our friends at Abbott Labs to UW- Madison graduation week and the start of our busy wedding season, we saw it all in May!

And our amazing and talented cake shop team stepped up and hit it out of the park 🤩! We are so blessed for their love and dedication to the cake shop and sharing their talents with the community to bake and decorate for so many special events!

Thank you to everyone that ordered during late April and May and to those that stopped in for grab ‘n go cupcakes and mini cakes - we are so thankful for your support of our small business cake shop 💜!
