Keep an eye out on our page we may be pulling the trailer out tomorrow. But we must share this with love…
I just HAVE to share what the Lord has laid on my heart this morning. As I lay here thinking about this storm and all the other storms out there, I can’t help but see the signs. But what hits me the hardest is the name of this particular storm and the meaning behind it…
“GOD IS SALVATION!” 🙌
And as I lay here, all I keep hearing in my spirit is… “DO NOT BE LIKE PETER AND TAKE YOUR EYES OFF JESUS!” You see, Peter was walking on water as long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus. But the moment he began focusing on the wind and the waves around him instead of the ONE standing before him, he began to sink!
And isn’t that just like us sometimes? We get so caught up in the storms around us that we lose sight of the ONE who has the power to calm them!
The ONE who saves!
The ONE who calms the raging seas!
The ONE who gives and takes away!
The ONE who provides!
The ONE who is our refuge, our strength, and our safe place!
The ONE who is our SALVATION! And all I keep hearing is…STAY FOCUSED! Not so much on what is going on AROUND you, but on what is going on INSIDE of you! Because sometimes we get so busy watching the storms in the natural that we forget about the storms in the spiritual.
We prepare our homes, stock our shelves, fill our gas tanks, and make sure everything is secured. And we absolutely SHOULD prepare and use the wisdom God has given us! But let me ask you something… Have you prepared your HEART?
Have you made sure your spiritual house is in order?
Have you made sure that HE is truly the GOD of your salvation?
We are so quick to watch the weather reports and take heed to every warning that comes across our phones, but are we taking heed to the warnings and signs the Lord has been showing us? Oh, how I pray that we don’t get so focused on the storm that we miss what God is trying to show us THROUGH it!
Matthew 14:30-31 (KJV) reminds us “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him…”
Do you get IMMEDIATELY! He reached out. Don’t miss that part! When Peter cried out, JESUS reached for him! And HE is still reaching today!
So this morning, from our little place we call the Drummond Inn, we are praying….
Praying for a hedge of protection over EVERY person and family in the paths of these storms.
Praying for our first responders, linemen, emergency personnel, and everyone who must be out in the middle of it. Praying for those facing storms that no weather radar will ever pick up. The spiritual storms, the battles of the mind, the broken hearts, the sickness, the struggles, and the things nobody else knows about. Praying that blinded eyes will be opened, hardened hearts will be softened, and empty hearts will be filled with the love and salvation of JESUS CHRIST! And oh, how I am praying that come Sunday, churches everywhere will be FILLED! Not because people are afraid of a storm, but because they recognize their need for the SAVIOR!
That God’s people would COME HOME!
Because at the end of the day, it isn’t about the name of a storm. It’s about the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES!
JESUS!
The storm may rage, the winds may blow, and the waters may rise, but don’t you dare take your eyes off the ONE who can reach down and pull you up! And remember, sometimes the greatest storm isn’t the one happening outside your window. It’s the one happening inside your heart.
KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS!
Lord, we ask for Your mercy, Your grace, Your protection, and most of all, for souls to be saved. Let Your will be done, and let Your people hear Your voice above the noise of this world. In the mighty name of JESUS, we pray. AMEN
With love and prayers,
