After 5+ years of business,
Yellow Fever is permanently closed.
We worked hard to bring healthy asian bowls to the local community but sometimes hard work is simply not enough to make a business successful. For those of who who wonder why…ask any other restaurant business owner. Restaurant biz is one of the most challenging, especially here in California with high rent, wage increases and rising food costs. We’re thankful for all our crew and our customers who we got to know over the years. We will forever cherish the memories. Here’s to the next chapter of our lives…

Today's National Diabetes Alert Day, not awareness but alert. Not to scare you but over 13% of adults in California have diabetes and about a quarter of them don't even know that they have it - that's over a million people, folks! And one third of young adults are at risk of becoming diabetic. So what can you do to stay healthy? Eat well, exercise and sleep.

When we opened our doors over 5 years ago, we wanted to serve delicious, healthy whole food to help complement a healthy lifestyle. Not "preachy" crazy but a restaurant with lean meats, fresh produce, whole foods made from scratch, one that you felt good after eating at. We even educated a few customers who had asked “what is kalé?”. When you have great ingredients, especially with asian flavors, you really don't need to do too much. It's delicious!

So bring a friend and have a bowl at YF. And save that sugar bomb or processed goodies for special occasions. To feed your body and your soul:) FYI - we're also working on a full nutritional info for all our bowls so that you can better monitor what goes in your body. All feedback welcome!

Happy Chinese New Year! The year of the pig offers good fortune and prosperity! So go eat some lucky food today including Nooodles, that will give you long, healthy life. And it may be bit messy but slurpin’ your noodles are a-ok in asian traditions:). Ours at YF are made with rice noodles which means no gluten!

We just realized that “Ko” as in Kona is “ok” spelled backwards. In this world of “grams”, it’s sometimes hard not to compare, keep up with whomever or whatever, and feel that you’re the only one going through life.

Well, we’re here to remind you that it will be ok and you’re definitely not the only one going through life.

So take a breath, be mindful and have gratitude for the little things.
And while we can’t be sipping’ on a Mai Tai🍹in Kona, our Kona bowl is pretty amazing and you can pretend that you’re there;)

Being a small business owner can be challenging especially when we have three locations plus a commissary we’re trying to manage. It’s certainly the hardest thing that has done!

While we can get stuck dealing with the daily minutia, we realize that we won’t be around if it’s not for our staff and customers.

So this week, with customers’ feedback, we’re getting rid of the protein substitution charge ($1.00).

When we first opened five years ago, we wanted to encourage customers to order “as is” but over the years, we’ve evolved and customers have learned our menu and are creating their own bowls! Who says Seoul has to have steak!

So play with your food and make it however you want!
