Bangor… thank you. Truly.
Running Salt North has been one of the wildest honors of my life. Every night you choose us — to unwind, to celebrate, to vibe, to eat, to dance — and we never take that lightly. I built this place with intention… early-morning grind, late-night anxiety, every dollar reinvested, every detail debated. All so that when you walk through those doors, you feel like, “Yeah… this is my spot.”
Let’s talk about the little moment this week.
Y’all saw that placard — and listen, we were simply trying to keep y’all warm and comfortable on the patio. We tried a setup out back to retain heat and keep the vibe strong… and we found out it just wasn’t going to work within the rules. That’s on us, and we adjusted.
No, we do not have 50 violations (and definitely nothing related to food).
We were shut down on Monday, Tuesday was Veterans Day, and by Wednesday we were right back open and serving the people of Bangor. In that short pause, we did what we always do: fix what needs fixing and keep moving forward. We’re committed to a healthy, long-term partnership between Salt North and the City of Bangor so this place can grow the right way.
From day one, our mission has been to bring something Bangor hasn’t seen before — real talent, real partnerships, real culture.
Hot Radio Maine.
Black Travel Maine.
Downtown Bangor Partnership.
And more lined up.
That’s why we’ve been able to bring in DJs and experiences the Bangor club scene just hasn’t had until now. We’re proud of that.
And we’re proud that you keep showing up for it.
While you’re showing up for us, make sure you’re also frequenting the many small business eateries in town. We’re all out here fighting the same fight — early mornings, long nights, a thousand decisions behind the scenes… people don’t see the anxiety, only the results. Show them love too.
As we transition into this next chapter, we’ll also be adding acoustic sets during our 5–7 PM hour — so if you’re a musician or singer-songwriter with something special to share, take note and tap in. Salt North is opening the doors for more local talent to shine.
Bangor… we’re here, we’re grateful, and we’re just getting warmed up.
