Midge and her family extend their gratitude to all attendees of Friday's historic site dedication ceremony. They particularly appreciate the support of Mayor Ed Fare and Village of Valley Stream leadership, the Village of Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce, County Executive Bruce Blakeman, State Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, Town of Hempstead's Donald Clavin and Melissa Miller, Ann DeMichael, family members, friends, and valued staff and customers who are like family. It was a memorable day to gather and pay tribute to the cherished legacy of Goldie and Goldie's Restaurant!❤️

After 52 years, Goldie's Restaurant has closed its doors. Midge decided she could not continue without Goldie by her side. We thank all of our wonderful, loyal customers who dined with us over the years. We hope you all remember Goldie's fondly. Thanks for the many memories!

Popular Valley Stream restaurant owner and longtime Five Towns resident Alberto Francesco Natale Occhiuzzo, better known as Goldie, died on Jan. 10 of natural causes. He was 90.
