KÖLSCH DAY 2026 @ GBC!

Look who we ran into in Tallahassee tonight ahead of Georgia Beer Company Kölsch Day 2026 on Saturday and the release of the beer named after him:

The polka legend himself - Johnny Koenig!

Johnny himself was in town and hitting local breweries this evening just a few days before GBC releases "Koenig Kölsch." We caught up with him at Ology Brewing Co - Midtown, and he was sipping Ology's dark Czech lager, their new anniversary imperial stout and the new Oat Milk Hazy IPA.

🌙 🍻 ⚽️ 🇺🇸 WATCH THE USA-TÜRKIYE GAME @ GBC! 🇺🇸⚽️🍻🌙

It's time for Georgia Beer Company to roll the dice and see how LOCKED IN for USA Men's Soccer and the World Cup y'all actually are, South Georgia!

Because this Thursday, we're gonna stay open CRAZY LATE for y'all to come root on the Red, White & Blue in their third and final Group D World Cup game against Türkiye.

Typically we close at 9 pm on Thursdays. ✌️

And this game doesn't even KICKOFF until 10 pm! 😱😱😱

So we extending that by an hour this Thursday - AND THEN SOME! 👀

That means if we're open until midnight or later in order to get this game in ... SO BE IT!

So, hop on your World Cup group chats, pick out your best American pride outfit, put on a cup of coffee and start spreading the word:

"THE place to watch the World Cup in Valdosta late Thursday is right here at GBC!"

Chitown Eatz is our scheduled food truck that evening, and they have pledged to stay a little late if y'all show up and show out for the good ol' U.S. of A.!

So let's get-r-done, Valdosta, and make Thursday a killer Watch Party here at the brewery before Team USA advances to the knockout round! ⚽️ 🇺🇸 🍻

REMINDER: Georgia Beer Company is closed to the general public today as we host a private event!

In case you missed it an our weekly schedule post on Monday, we have a private event here today at the brewery and we will be closed ALL DAY to accommodate that.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your understanding!

Our doors reopen on Wednesday at 4 pm for:

** Happy Hour, 4-6 pm
** Food from The Chuckwagon foodtruck, 5 pm
** Trivia Night with a General Knowledge category and a special category on the World Cup, 6:30 pm

Was the latest and greatest Munchie Box Food Challenge this past Saturday fun ... or was it fun?!?

Don't answer that - we will:

IT WAS REALLY FUN!

The "Wings Of Fury" Food Challenge was an epic test of "how hot is TOO HOT?!?" as many stepped up to the plate to see if they can handle the heat that Munchie Box was packing in a basket of 7 fiery wings.

You had 20 minutes to eat them.

You were allowed nothing to drink.

And then you had to wait a *full* five minutes after you were done - JUST TO TORTURE YOURSELF! 😆 🤣 😂

When the dust settled Saturday, many tried - but only five brave souls were victorious in completing the challenge, earning their meal for free, a gift card to Munchie Box and their name and picture on their Food Challenge Wall of Fame. (Winners photo in last pic of this gallery)

Congrats to those who finished the challenge, and best of luck next time to those who couldn't. 🤷‍♂️

We ended this awesome day with a night of live music by the 2RiverStation duo - capping an amazing Saturday at the brewery.

The week has arrived, y'all ...

KÖLSCH DAY 2026 @ GBC! 🍻🍻🍻!

This Saturday, Jan. 27th, marks the annual moment that we unveil a beer some of you wait ALL year for: The Koenig Kölsch - a light, crispy, downright refreshing brew we named in honor of our annual Oktoberfest star: Polkamaster Johnny Koenig!

Even better? Johnny himself will be on hand to perform on Release Day! 🙌🙌🙌

Here's the rundown of what should be an EPIC day here at the brewery:
** Doors open at noon
** Koenig Kolsch taps
** Koenig Kölsch 6-packs become available for purchase to-go
** Munchie Box debuts a SPECIAL Kölsch Day menu, including Currywurst, Bratwurst, Bavarian Pretzels, German Potato Salad and more!
** The Johnny Koenig Duo plays LIVE from 3-6 pm!

This event is FREE to attend and open to all ages!

Join us for our annual ode to one of the most delicious beer styles in craft beer history - brewed in honor of one of the coolest performers we've ever had in Valdosta!
