King's Club is here for the fall season and in October, it's exactly the right place to be.

Open Fridays and Saturdays, 5โ€“10pm. Live music every Saturday, 7โ€“10pm.

In a quieter month, when the village has settled and the evenings have that particular October chill, there's something especially good about a room this warm, a bar program this considered, and live music that fills the space without overwhelming it.

Come as you are. Stay as long as you like.

A MICHELIN Key, once again.

When the MICHELIN Guide announced its 2026 Key selection this fall, Sonnenalp was honored to be among the hotels recognized. The Key looks at the whole of a stay, not any single part of it: the architecture, the service, the feeling that a place could only exist exactly where it is. That's why it means so much to us.

Those are the things this family has tended for five generations. A fire laid before you come in from the cold. A name remembered from last winter. A room above Gore Creek that feels as if it's been waiting for you. They're small things, and they are the work of many hands.

To our team, who make those moments happen every day, and to our guests, who return year after year and bring this house to life: thank you. This one belongs to all of you.

Sonnenalp in October.

The village is quieter. The hotel has a warmth that feels almost amplified by the season. The fireplaces are going, the evenings are crisp, and the mountain is just beginning to stir.

For stays between October 4th and December 17th, we're offering 20% off our standard rate, which is automatically applied at booking, no promo code required. It's our way of saying: October is an exceptional time to come.

Restaurants are open. The spa is waiting. The mountains are calling.

There's a particular feeling at the end of September in Vail.

The aspens have peaked. The mornings are colder. The light has shifted to something thinner and more angled, and there's a quiet in the valley that feels like a held breath. The space between one season and the next.

We love this moment. It's when the hotel feels most like itself: warm inside, the mountains just beyond the window, the creek still running below.

Fall isn't over. But something is shifting. And for those who know what comes next in Vail... well, you know.

We'll see you soon โ„๏ธ

September mornings at Ludwig's Breakfast have a particular quality.

The light through the glass ceiling catches differently when the aspens outside are turning. The buffet is at full spread. The room hums with the quiet energy of people about to have a very good day in the mountains.

Open Monday through Saturday, 7โ€“11am. Sunday, 7amโ€“12pm.

Whatever the day holds: a hike through peak-color trails, a round at the Club, a long spa morning ... it starts better here.

The farmers' market runs through early October, and in September it's at its best.

The local produce is peak autumn: squash, apples, late-season greens. The wildflowers have given way to dried arrangements and warm-toned stems. The village is quiet enough to leisurely browse.

Vail in September is the town at its most livable. No lift lines. No summer rush. Just the farmers' market on a Sunday morning, the gondola for a hike, lunch on a patio and an afternoon that takes its time.

Sonnenalp sits at the center of all of it.
Right on Gore Creek.
Right in the village.

We can't wait to see you.

Of all the things that make this hotel singular, this might be the one guests mention most when they come back.

Sonnenalp is the only hotel in Vail Village on Gore Creek.

In summer, the water is cold and blue. In September, something changes. The aspens drop gold leaves into the current. The light is lower and warmer. The sound of the water carries differently... quieter, somehow.

From the creekside suites, from the spa, from the outdoor pool and the patio, the water is always there. Always present. It becomes part of the stay in a way that guests find difficult to explain and impossible to forget.

We understand. We feel the same way.

One of our favorite events of the year, Gather in the Garden, returns for one final night on September 25th.

An evening of food, w**e, music and the particular kind of warmth that only happens when the right people are in the right place at the right time.

The garden will be lit. The food will be beautiful. And the backdrop, Vail in early fall, will be exactly right.

If you've been before, you know to arrive hungry and plan to stay late. If this is your first time: welcome. We think you'll want to come back.

September is when the spa becomes something else entirely.

When the air outside has that particular fall chill, cool enough to want the steam, warm enough to still call it beautiful, the Sonnenalp Spa becomes something genuinely extraordinary.

A morning on the trail. An afternoon here. Dinner at the Chalet with the fire going.

That's September at Sonnenalp. We think you'll find it's worth the trip.
