To our valued customers,
First, we want to thank everyone for their patience and support over the last few days. We are happy to report that our kitchen exhaust issues have been resolved and we were excited to finally be moving forward. Unfortunately, we have now run into another obstacle.
Our temporary liquor permit has expired, and New York State will not issue another temporary permit while our full liquor license application was approved pending a document. At this time, said document holding up our liquor license approval is obtaining a determination from the New York State Education Department confirming that Old School Bar and Grill is not operating as a school.
As strange as that sounds, it is a required part of the licensing process. We have been waiting for this determination for well over a year and a half, and despite our efforts, it has yet to be provided. Once this determination is received, there are no other outstanding issues that we are aware of preventing our liquor license from moving forward.
We are currently exploring every possible avenue to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. One of the options that may need to be considered is a potential name change if it helps eliminate confusion and move the approval process forward. No decisions have been made at this time, but we want to be transparent with our customers about all possibilities being discussed.
In the meantime, Old School Bar and Grill will continue operating as a food-only establishment, so our guests can continue to enjoy their favorite meals.
Because of these changes, we will also be reviewing our hours of operation. We expect to announce an updated schedule this weekend once we determine what will work best for both our customers and our business during this temporary period.
We know this situation is frustrating, and believe us, it is equally frustrating on our end. We have worked hard to overcome every hurdle put in front of us and will continue doing everything possible to get this final issue resolved.
