🔥Getting ready for THIS FRIDAY's coffee roasting workshop!🔥 I debuted this exact workshop at World of Coffee San Diego last month - and it SOLD OUT y'all, so I wanted to bring it home to LA 😎

If y'all know me, then you KNOW how much accessibility and not gatekeeping information means to me. When I had K+M Coffee, it was a non-negotiable value of mine to give everyone on my team an opportunity to come to the roastery with me and learn. Even though YES - it was a VERY expensive value to hold and YES, it absolutely f*d with my bottom line LOL - but that's why it's important! So many people are never given access to this kind of information, and so many people are told NO when they ask for it.

Roasting is magical ✨ but it ain't magic! It's math, science, and 100% teachable. Whether you're a coffee professional, coffee enthusiast, and ESPECIALLY if you're someone who's ever faced the unfortunate reality of gatekeeping in our industry, I gotchu. This workshop is for you ✊

Here's what we're getting into:
The theory and science behind the roast. Hands-on time on a sample roaster. Then we finish with a cupping so you can taste exactly what we talked about. Three hours. We literally have like 2 spots left. Real knowledge you can actually use, taught by people of color in an inclusive and accessible environment 🥳

🎟️ Tickets are $225, BUT as a thank you for supporting me here, comment WORKSHOP below and I'll send you a link for an insider discount 😘

Love and appreciate y'all. See y'all Friday!

My goal has always been to show people that while roasting is magical ✨ it ain't magic! It's math, science, and 100% teachable. 🚨 WORKSHOP ALERT! 🚨 Y'all I am SO stoked to tell you that I'm teaching TWO workshops at World of Coffee San Diego, April 10-12! 🥳🤯🥳 The first is "Inside the Roast: Essential Coffee Roasting Concepts for Beginners"!

If you've ever been curious about roasting, wanted to learn how but didn't know where to start, felt lost in all the things (bc it's a lot!), or have maybe even asked for a chance and gotten doors slammed in your face (you're not alone, I've been there 🙋‍♀️) - then this workshop is for YOU. Sharing knowledge and information is one of my core values, and truly a passion of mine. If you know me then I'm sure you've heard me say this - coffee and roasting is magical but it's not magic. It's math, science, and 100% teachable. But sometimes it feels like the only way to get into a roastery is by a lucky mix of privilege and nepotism. I ain't about that. Gatekeeping has never been my jam - it's absolute bullsh*t. And it's my mission to open the gate and share those keys ✊ You're going to learn the foundations of roasting, the why behind it all, and what it all means in your final cup.

This information belongs to everyone, and I want to show y'all roasting can be accessible and teach it in a way that is approachable. Join me in my workshop at World of Coffee San Diego - Friday, April 10th, 9am - 12pm ✨ Spaces are super limited, snag your seat NOW at the 🔗 in bio!

Next up, stay tuned for info about my 2nd workshop: "Work It! Coffee Shop Design & Workflow Efficiency" - this one I'm teaching with one of my besties, 🥳

01/30/2026

As a Filipino immigrant, my parents gave up everything for the promise of the American dream. The promise of a "better" life, upward mobility, prosperity, happiness. As with so many immigrant stories, the reality was extreme sacrifice, a forced erasing of our culture for assimilation, racism nevertheless, and poverty instead of prosperity. The years were long and difficult. It took us 19 years to gain our citizenship. NINETEEN. And we're considered some of the luckier ones.

Yet ask my family about it today, and they will STILL talk about that dream. Despite what is going on in our country, they still believe in it. Their hope brings me to tears; torn between seeing their hope as a beautiful form of resilience and resistance, or an absolutely futile one, or both - especially coupled with what's been happening in MN. I fight back despair often.

I refuse to accept that THIS is the America my parents gave their entire lives for. I refuse to accept that this path of cruelty and devastation without consequence or accountability is our future.

l stand in solidarity this Friday, January 30th, and every damn day, with those in resistance to the absolute f*ckery that is this administration. I know my decision is easier and of privilege since my small business only employs me. For those who choose to stay open for community and resilience, I see your struggles and your hearts too. Support your local small businesses. Support your neighbors. Then support those who aren't your neighbors as well but who also deserve your support simply because they are a human worthy of goodness and life. The only way out of this is together. Our voices are louder together, our power is stronger together. TOGETHER is the only way we topple this fascist regime that's forming, and together is the only way we can move forward towards a future worth fighting for.

In love and solidarity, Mo 💖 F**K ICE. ✊

🚨LAST CHANCE!🚨 TODAY is the LAST KICKSTARTER DAY for Kuyas! They're SO close y'all - they just need a little more to hit their goal! Kickstarter is ALL or NOTHING - that means if they don't hit 100% of their goal, they get $0 that they and y'all have worked so hard to raise 🤯

THANK YOU to everyone who's donated and shared already. It means the world to me, to Sian and Arnold of Kuyas, to our Highland Park community, and to our Filipino community! Representation matters, y'all. K+M was founded on the value of diversity, equality and representation - uplifting those marginalized and creating a space for those who never got a seat at the table. Sian and Arnold of Kuyas are former K+M teammates. They're going to continue that beautiful and important value - BUT ONLY if they reach their goal!! They can't open without us. If we don't support our small businesses, you've already seen what's been happening - they're going to close, and the community you love so much is going to disappear; only to be replaced by rich corporations. Let's make sure that doesn't happen. Donate if you can, sharing is always free 🥰 We love y'all so much, and appreciate all your support! LET'S DO THIS! 💪💪💪

01/18/2026

🚨 KICKSTARTER UPDATE!🚨 Y'all - our former K+M shop fam .la are t-minus 5 days until their Kickstarter ends, and they still need $10k. Asking for help is hard enough, but no one ever likes to ask for money straight out - so I'm going to do it for them. Community, you know these two from my K+M team - all the fantastic food you've eaten at the shop? That was our Chef Arnold. All the gorgeous plants and countless lattes served to you - that was our barista and plant guy Sian! After I made the decision to close K+M, I knew I couldn't live with myself if the space went to someone sh*tty. Another corporation or rich a$$hole who doesn't give two sh*ts about our neighborhood and the incredible humans in it. Despite K+M closing, I knew I had to just do one last thing - I HAD to protect the beautiful community we built, and HAD to made sure the space went to people who loved y'all as much as I do (despite my therapist telling me to learn to let go 😅).

I knew these two have held dreams of their own small businesses. Of creating, of supporting, of fostering community - of doing SOMETHING. I thought it was the perfect opportunity - and I'm so glad they said yes when I asked them if they wanted to make their concept of .la a reality in the former K+M space. But they need HELP y'all (don't we all!) - but truly, this dre, the support that K+M received that taught me what real community looks like, the people who are the reason we keep going, even though the world is on fire. Y'all keepam can't happen without the village that helped raise me up in times of need and I know how hard that was, and how every little bit helps. To every person who sees this - THANK YOU for being here, and we hope that y'all can keep coming to the shop as it evolves into its Kuyas era. Let's make that dream a reality. Donate if you can, sharing is always free. We love y'all forever 💖

My head is spinning with all the emotions 2025 brought. But for right now, as we ring in this new year - let's just stop and enjoy since this year felt like lifetimes. More thoughtful words to come tomorrow, but tonight - tonight we celebrate. Bye, 2025. Cheers, 2026. I'm so excited for you to be here 💛

This isn’t a goodbye — it’s a becoming.

Kindness & Mischief Coffee was built with a whole lotta heart and hustle, and a deep belief that coffee is culture — it holds stories, histories, and the power to bring people together. It was my love letter to my community and my roots. For over a decade, we poured joy, care, and intention into every cup, every conversation, and every community moment we shared.

And like all living things, the work grew.

Studio Tigre is the evolution.
A creative studio and coffee universe where everything I do now lives — coffee omakase experiences, roasting and sourcing, workshops, consulting, travel, and storytelling rooted in culture, curiosity, and joyful hospitality.

K+M will always be the foundation. Studio Tigre is the expansion — bolder, broader, and built to hold what’s next. And trust me when I say there's a whole lot coming up next 😎

Same founder. Same heart. A bigger universe.

Thank you for growing with me, being part of this wild journey, and making space for what this work can become.

Welcome to Studio Tigre.
✨ Where flavor finds people.
💖, Mo!

🚨K+M X STUDIO TIGRE ARCHIVES🚨

As we make room for what’s next, we’re releasing a small collection of furniture from our space — pieces that have lived real lives, held real conversations, and shaped how this shop has felt for years.

Some were custom-built for us. Some were LITERALLY **made by my own hands**, at the very beginning of this journey. All were built for daily use and chosen with intention.

Expect honest patina, solid construction, and one-of-a-kind design.

Pieces are available individually or as sets. Pickup in Los Angeles.

DM us if something feels like it belongs in your space 🤍

THANK YOU. 💛
For choosing us, cheering for us, and making this shop a part of your everyday joy. Thank you for over 10 years of kindness, mischief, magic, and making sh*t happen ✨🔥

I signed the lease to my shop on Valentine’s Day 2014. We ran the most nerve-racking Kickstarter campaign of my life and served coffee to you from our construction zone in 2015. We officially opened our doors in 2016 🥳

From day one, K+M has been a love letter —
to Filipino joy 🇵🇭,
to representation in coffee,
to community,
and to every single human who has ever walked through our doors or brewed our beans at home.

Y’all gave me the fuel to keep taking up space in an industry that wasn’t built for someone like me — a q***r Filipina behind the bar, in front of the roaster, and steering the damn ship. Together we said:
“Well f*ck that — we’ll build our own seat at the table.”

And wow Y’ALL.
LOOK 👏 AT 👏 WHAT 👏 WE 👏 BUILT 👏 😭❤️

You kept showing up — and LAWD KNOWS y’all turned hard days into holy sh*t miracles.

I am so deeply grateful.
THANK YOU for loving my team and me so fully.
THANK YOU for giving me the space to share my joy so loudly.
THANK YOU for being the reason K+M exists — and continues.

And while today is about gratitude…
you should know one thing:

We’re not done.
Not even close, b*tches 😎🔥

A new chapter is brewing…
and you’re already invited for a front row seat.
Big things coming soon. 🔓✨

If you’ve ever been part of this story, drop a 💛
and share a fave K+M memory below so we can laugh/ugly cry together 🥹😂

With endless love and mischief,
Mo

I originally made these hats for the crew in the Philippines back in February, as a thank you gift for being such amazing hosts during our trip, for all the hard work they do to champion a better world for Philippines coffee farmers and producers, and for pushing Philippines specialty coffee's reach in the industry. A hat is definitely not enough to express my gratitude, but I travel only with one backpack so it'll have to do 😜 That's me with Ate Eralyn and Kuya Arnold, the mill manager and farm manager of Sitio San Roque in Bukidnon. The terms "Ate" (ah-teh) and "Kuya" (koo-yah) mean big sister and big brother in the Philippines, and are used for your actual related family AND for your chosen family as terms of endearment and respect. I love this hat. Im obsessed with the Filipino sun star designed by our shop fam .bang. This hat has since traveled the world with me, seen me through sunshine and rain, and is now a staple in my travel bag. This is the last run of these hats, snag one while ya can! 🔗in bio! ALSO, peep 👀 the back embroidery, we updated this run for the special occasion of our celebration of life/funeral 😎
