He leaves them on fences and trees and where ever else he can leave them for the less fortunate in his community. This inspired me. I started looking through my abandoned projects.. I noticed a lot of hats from when I first started crocheting that weren't finished. So I finished 3 of them. And I yarn bombed those bad boys in my area.. Parsons Ave, Columbus Ohio. It's pretty poor.. They've even written songs about it... (Franklin County Woman, from Parsons Ave.. It felt....?... SO GOOD to leave those hats out there!!! Not only that, when the first hat left it's post I got this FEELING inside me.. All gushy gooey and junk...
So I thought I'd start this page so that others might be inspired by Ernie like I was! Do ONE random act of kindness.. You don't have to crochet.. sew.. knit... just do, SOMETHING.. And....? Wouldn't it be FUN to take PICS of your random acts and post them here to inspire OTHERS?? My Grandfather and my Uncle were both named Ernie.. Maybe that's why Grand Rapids Ernie inspired me? Maybe it was just his good heart and his demand for anonymity. You could buy a cup of hot coffee for someone who looks cold? You could shovel your neighbors snow.. You could scrape their windows or take over dinner or dessert! You could go around hanging clothes you don't need anymore with a tag saying "I'm FREE!! PUT ME TO USE!!"
