Father's Day, first observed on June 19th, 1910. Established by a thoughtful woman named Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington, who was raised by her widowed father, a Civil War veteran. This holiday took over six years to become official, and we are pleased that it eventually did. Being a dad is not limited to fathers. Dads play a vital role in the foundation of a family.
