We’ll be the first to admit we’re an odd duck 🦆 We’re coffee roasters and slingers of delicious caffeinated beverages (zero coffee snobbery here, you do you), purveyors of judgment-free eco-refills to help you ditch single-use plastic (cause seriously, no shame in this game), and a cozy community space packed with free Wi-Fi and board games. Need to cram on some work? We promise not to bug you! 😁

Nestled right in Contoocook Village with plenty of free parking, we'd love to be your first stop of the day. Witching Hour Coffee & Provisions is our community, and we are so, so thankful for you all. 💚

Yes, we are still a coffee shop. Don't worry, more coffee inspo coming later this week. But cause we're chaos goblins, we're also a refill station with a passionate goal of removing judgement and barriers from the process of ditching single-use plastic. Cause (say with your chest) IT ISN'T ABOUT PERFECTION. It’s just about doing what you can, when you can. 🌿

Today we are talking BEESWAX WRAPS. They'll save you money in the long run. You can make them or buy them. And this post today covers all the basics.

SO, if you're on the hunt for a quick dopamine hit before the motivation moves on, SAVE THIS POST. But also, if you're like...Alyssa... no. I do not have time for this...I've got you. We have kicka$$ wraps in a variety of sizes just waiting for you.

Materials Needed
- 100% cotton fabric (bonus points for using what you have!)
- Beeswax (pellets or grated) - check local craft store
- Pine resin (optional, helps with extra stickiness, likely need to buy online)
- Jojoba oil (optional, adds flexibility) - check local craft store
- Parchment paper (to protect your iron and work surface)
- Iron & ironing board (or a heat-resistant surface)
- Paintbrush (for beeswax use, to spread the wax - once used it can't be reclaimed for any other activity)

Instructions
1. Prep & Cut: Wash, dry, and cut your 100% cotton fabric into your desired shapes and sizes.
2. Mix & Sprinkle: Combine 2 parts beeswax, 1 part pine resin, and a few drops of jojoba oil. You'll need enough to cover your entire piece of fabric with a thin, sparse layer. Once mixed, sprinkle across fabric.
3. Cover & Iron: Layer another parchment sheet on top. Iron on medium (no steam) until the wax melts and spreads completely. It will soak both sides of the fabric if you put enough one.
4. Cool & Use: Peel back paper, hold up to cool, and your reusable wrap is ready to mold and use!

Care instructions: gently hand wash using cool water and soap, air dry.

🗓️ STARTING MONDAY AUGUST 24 we are open on WEEKDAYS from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

SO, from now until August 23... we are open:
- Weekdays 8 am to 3pm
- Weekends 8 am to 1 pm

STARTING on August 24... we are open:
- Weekdays 7 am to 2 pm
- Weekends 8 am to 1 pm

You might know us for espresso, fresh pastries, or a cozy spot to catch up but before all that we were a refill station (I mean, we are STILL a refill station 😅)

So I made a carousel for you about refill and laundry detergent. I know, I know it's not as exciting as reminding you all we have pumpkin spice lattes year round, but I hope it's a gentle reminder that we're here for you in more than one way 💚 You don't have to change your entire life overnight to make a difference. Sometimes it just starts with your laundry detergent.

So with that, bring your own container. Grab one of our free ones. Try things out. Don't judge yourself or others. Be kind. Got a question? Ask us! In person, online, by carrier pigeon (please include return carrier pigeon if response is needed). We're here for you!

Celebrate the 4th with Us! 🎆 We are open all Fourth of July weekend!

You can find us here during our normal hours, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, straight through the weekend and into next week. We’re busy squeezing fresh lemons and prepping plenty of cold brew to keep you cool and refreshed throughout your holiday celebrations. 🥤

On July 4th itself, join in the celebration with the rest of the town! The Hopkinton Recreation Committee has planned an amazing Family Fun Day right alongside our weekly Farmers Market Contoocook Farmers Market at Riverway Park.

✨ NEW COFFEE DROP ✨

We are so excited to introduce our newest limited-edition addition to the Witching Hour lineup: Ethiopia Medium Roast! 🎉

If you love a bright, flavorful brew, this one is truly special. It features notes of tart blueberry with a sweet acidity that rounds out in the cup. It’s vibrant, smooth, and tastes just like a cozy morning in a cup.

For those who might see "single origin" or "medium roast" and feel a little intimidated—don't be! Let’s geek out about coffee for a quick second:

🌱 What is a "Single Origin"? It means these beans came from one specific country and region (in this case, Ethiopia, the birth place of coffee!), rather than being blended with beans from all over. It allows you to taste the unique, distinct characteristics of that specific soil and climate.

🔥 What does "Medium Roast" mean?
Roasting is a balance. While a dark roast brings out bold, smoky flavors, a medium roast can hit the sweet spot. It roasts the bean just enough to develop a smooth body while preserving the coffee's natural, fruit-forward flavors (hence those tart blueberry notes!).

☕ How to brew it: This coffee shines as a drip coffee or a pour-over.

In-Store: Grab a bag right off the shelves next time you pop-in for laundry detergent.

Online for Pickup: Order ahead on our website and we’ll have it ready at the counter.

Back to where it all began!

Five years ago (wow, time flies!), we launched at Contoocook Farmers Market. This Saturday, we’re throwing it back and popping up!

⏰ When: Sat June 20 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
☕️ Menu: Hot coffee, cold brew, lemonade, and retail bags of our coffee beans to get you through the weekend!

Come say hi, grab a drink, and stock up before the shop officially reopens on Monday, June 22.
