An amazing husband, dad, family man, and the creative force behind Villa Montez, 1836 Texas Kitchen, and HUMO.

Chef Carlos is usually behind the scenes, creating, planning, cooking, and bringing ideas to life. His work goes far beyond the kitchen. It’s about creating the complete guest experience, from welcoming you for a beautiful dinner at one of our restaurants to helping bring some of East Texas’ largest dining experiences to life.

Over the years, that commitment has also meant giving back to the community that has supported our family and restaurants. Through countless local events, fundraisers, partnerships, and causes close to our hearts, Chef Carlos has always believed that being part of this community means showing up for it, too.
