NATIONAL COFFEE DAY

"You think I was born yesterday?"

We ran an extremely important lesson today with the Junior Baristas, re: BOGO Half Off. They have often heard us talking about "taking half off" as a concept, but today they learned all the hubbub over this nifty, trendy topic, where you cut the top off of a drink and serve it, "HALF OFF."

Bronus was not impressed... but ever the good sport, he agreed to at least pose for the pic 😏

All that to say...

Today we will will be adding "BOGO Half Off" to the Happy Hour line-up in celebration of National Coffee Day!!! 🤩

This totally planned (and definitely not impromptu decision brought about by someone calling the shop asking what we are doing for National Coffee Day) event will run thru normal Happy Hours (12-2) and right up to closing. Stop by and get half off a drink of equal or lesser value when you buy anything from our massive menu of marvels.

WEEKLY SPECIAL

Autumn has done whatever the opposite of "sprung" is, and we are here for it with this fall-y twist on our most prestigious drink: its the Autumn Bee's Knees Latte 😍

We start with a base of Cinny Powder and Local, Organic Honey from Trimble Farms East Texas (so choice, btw), and we Emeril Legasse that Bee (BAM!) with some Monin Apple and Vanilla syrup, bringing a flood of flavor and fragrance to an already full bouquet. We finish this beauty off with a dusting of Cinnamon Sugar for a drink that has come to define Fall for us here at the shop 🍂

These ingredients layer fantastically on our Rishi Matcha, Spiced Oregon Chai, or (especially) our bold, organic Espresso from Calidad Coffee (pictured), and they remind us a serendipitous start to a stupendous Fall awaits (...most likely after a "False Fall" and a second wave of Summer 😬... we'll get there 😅).

PRALINE PERFECTION

The Pumpkin Praline Poke Cakes from cocodeleenas pair pretty pleasantly with our praline flavor-forward recipe: the Cozy Caramel Latte. Just like with this week's special, Cozy Caramel absolutely SINGS when you add a pump of Pumpkin Pie Syrup -- this means, with or without the Pumpkin pump, the flavor mashup of the pumpkin and nuts in the sweet, sultry, buttermilky goodness of Miss Brenda's poke cakes and our delightfully deep espresso drinks is downright divine 👌

HEADS UP / PSA

Some of y'all might have noticed that our grumpy post from last week got taken down... This was because we got a call from Genecov telling us they would be setting up a patch and restripe of our corner of the lot!! 🫨

First off: the outpouring of support and suggestions at this latest flavor of catastrophe we were dealing with was humbling... If you've been with us for long enough, you know the headaches we've been dealing with since about year 2. Anyone in small business knows that you're not really supposed to do what we did last week (folks don't need/want to hear us air our dirty laundry)... but it was one year ago today we were 🤏 this close to closing up after a major machine malfunction shuttered us for several days (as the icing on the cake of a Summer that saw us lose about $30,000 in sales during the hotel construction next door) so we were just exhausted and needed to blow off some steam.

Welp... some folks say that complaining is a form of prayer (indignant/imperfect, but still) and ours was answered in the way we least expected: our Landlord has offered to restripe those ghost spots next to our kiosk to make it clear that our (re: their) property is not for hotel parking. An added bonus, they're going to be patching and restriping the drive thru lanes, too!! 🥹

All of that to say, be careful navigating the next couple of days as everyone works around the shop's peaks and lulls to get our little corner fixed up and looking pretty 🤩

MUFFINS!!

We're headed into the weekend with some "Food for the Soul" from cocodeleenas! We have a new flavor of love to try: a Jumbo Caramel Apple Muffin 😲 ( so, SO good, y'all). They're here til they're gone!

We will have the classic pairing of Mudslingers and Blackberry Lemon coming in on Sunday for your weekend delight and Monday morning commute, and we'll post next week's menu just as soon as we narrow down which of our favorites to bring in for the week (suggestions welcome!!! 🤩).
