We aren’t just serving thin slices—we’re bringing a full steakhouse experience straight to a taquería. Every single cut is sourced from specialized farms, featuring Japanese A5 Wagyu, Ibérico Pork, Porterhouse, Filet Mignon, New York Strip, and Hanger steak.
We put our partner farms front and center so you know the exact origin and quality you’re tasting in every bite.

Welcome to Part 1 of introducing our brand new Fonda Moderna location in Newport Beach! Chef Daniel Godinez is taking us behind the design and the vision for this new space.
We are a modern taquerĂ­a inspired by the traditional fondas of Mexico. Chef Daniel wanted to bring that nostalgic, communal energy of a 1980s fonda down to Newport, but with a sleek, modern twist. For us, a fonda means pulling up a chair, sharing a table, and connecting with people over incredible food.
To match that energy, he built a menu that is actually 5 distinct taquerias in 1, highlighting exceptional quality and premium meats—essentially a steakhouse in the form of a taqueria:
High-end, premium street tacos & prime meats
Authentic, slow-cooked guisados
Flavorful vegetarian & vegan options
Fresh Baja California-style seafood
