To everyone who has frequented and patronized our diner - we are grateful for your support -
Due to an organized and concerted attack against our business, the wealthy Tower family - made up mostly of heirs who can afford anything. Between them and the AI data centers driving up everyone's utility costs, Governor Mikie Sherrill who can't do anything right and the Cape May County Board of Health who doesn't like us because we are poor, we, like many small businesses in America, can no longer afford to operate.
Under normal circumstances we'd be doing well, but I figured I'd let you know: They want $25k+ to fix the plumbing, which would have cost maybe $4k a few years ago, the electric company wants $1,000+ per month, the gas company wants another $1,000, and the rent fee which isn't even a real lease is $1,200 per month, and then the Board of Health comes around and demands another $300 every month or so, demands we change out things that aren't broken, which results in missed days and lost wages and thousands more in expenses - $10k in the past 6 months - the fire inspectors demand another $300 - and that's before we even talk about wages or paying for the rest of the things we need.
Due to Larry and Angela's medical conditions, it is hard for them to work and they have been doing so for limited returns because of all of this.
It is possible that we may return as a "virtual kitchen" in the future, but the physical restaurant has been deliberately sabotaged, and short of full-on revolution, things are only good in this country for the 4% of people who are rich and the thousand sadistic billionaires whose happiness stems from making the rest of us poor.
For everyone else, life is difficult. We live in a small space with 4 adults and 2 dogs and our own bills are way past due.
Despite working upwards of 80 hours per person per week, we are struggling.
The Board of Health has run us out. All we wanted to do was work and run a restaurant, but no one can succeed in the US anymore - the American Dream is over.
We appreciate all of you - see you again in the future, when people can afford to exist in this country.
