Beginning soon, we will be reopening on a limited basis from our home location on Route 202, just up the road from our Torrington location. We will be posting our opening details and menu shortly. While our family continues to heal, this feels like the right first step toward reconnecting with all of you.
Today, I harvested our first batch of heirloom tomatoes and basil. Guess what's next?
I'll be peeling, chopping, blending, stirring, and simmering!
Fresh-made pesto and scratch-made tomato sauce.
This year's opening will feature many of the old-school favorites you've been asking for, including our scratch-made stuffed breads, Ciccoli Ring, seeded bastones, handmade Italian ice, and many of our Take & Bake family meals.

To our friends, customers, and extended Italian Al’s family,

We wanted to share why we have been absent and why Italian Al’s has remained closed longer than expected.

Very recently, Al’s mother was tragically killed in a car accident, and his sister was seriously injured. This has been an incredibly painful and life-changing time for our family.

Over the past weeks, we’ve received many messages asking when we will reopen, and we sincerely apologize for not responding as we normally would. The truth is that Al is still processing the sudden loss of his mom, and right now, focusing on healing and getting through each day is what we can manage.

Italian Al’s has always been more than a business to us, and we absolutely do plan to reopen. We are simply taking the time needed to heal and regroup.

In the coming days, I will be posting our menu as a first step toward reconnecting with everyone as we continue to move forward and navigate this difficult time.
