🚌💙💛 School is Back in Session! 💛💙🚌

As our students return to school, we ask everyone to help keep them safe while traveling to and from school each day.

When you see a school bus with its red lights flashing and STOP sign extended, STOP. Children may be crossing the road and can be difficult to see, especially during busy morning and afternoon hours.

Please remember to:
🛑 Stop when the bus is loading or unloading students.
👀 Watch carefully for children crossing in front of or behind the bus.
🚫 Never pass a stopped school bus with its stop arm extended.
⏱️ Slow down and stay alert in school zones and around bus stops.

A few extra moments of patience can help protect a child's life.

Sure feels like we are close 🥵

Another one for the record books! 🥵 Phoenix reached a new daily record high of 117°, breaking the previous record of 116° set in 2023.

Phoenix tied the all-time record warm low of 97 degrees this morning, set originally on July 19, 2023.

Our active Monsoon will continue. Many have had rain overnight and this wet pattern will continue today. Best chances just south and southwest of the Mogollon Rim, including western and central Yavapai County. Localized Flash Flooding remains possible.

There is no immediate threat to Payson.

Independence Day, July 4, is a free admission day for visitors to national forests, parks, refuges, and rangelands across the U.S. Come celebrate the day in the great outdoors!

As a reminder, fireworks, exploding targets and other incendiary devices are prohibited year-round on national forest lands. These devices can ignite dry vegetation instantly, threatening firefighters, nearby communities, wildlife and public lands!

Help prevent human-caused wildfires! One spark is all it takes.
