Yep, my good old home town of Toledo made the national news yesterday for a mass shooting.
When I say I'm Fed Up, this s**t right here takes the cake.
A mass shooting in front of the food trucks and beer tent. An event I worked just last year. Many of my food truck friends were in attendance, many seen things that they never should have in a million years.
The Old West End Festival is about bringing people together from all walks of life... Sadly, the violent, as***le, youngsters are making tougher every single day to put events like this together.
Last weekend, there were shots fired at an event, now again this weekend!
I'm so embarrassed right now to call this place home. The excuse that "This stuff happens everywhere." is a pathetic nonanswer to a problem that is definitely growing in cities across the U.S.
Just because it happens elsewhere, doesn't make it okay. How have we grown to accept this bulls**t?
When will people be held accountable? Who should we hold accountable? Parents, teachers, lawmakers, law enforcement?
How about we start by forfeiting the freedom of anyone caught with an illegal firearm?
Jaywalk with an illegal gun- locked up, throw away the key. Same for anyone arrested with an illegal gun. Too often these criminals are back on the streets the same day! New gun in hand by the end of day...
If you choose to carry a gun illegally that is capable of ending a human life, you have no business walking the streets of a civil society. Start locking them up, not for a night, for a week, for ever.
Maybe the parents would start giving a s**t when their boys are put in prison for life... Heck, maybe they would thank the system for removing violent as***les from the streets...
Something has to change. Taxpayers have spent billions on top of billions fighting poverty, crime,.and drugs...
Its 2026 and we're as bad off as ever. Stop throwing money at positive solutions that haven't worked, and spend that money on keeping these criminals off the streets for good.
I'm tired of my taxpayer dollars just creating areas for these as***les to gather and shoot each other, when those dollars could be spent on making sure these types of criminals never have a chance to pull a trigger in society again...
