Central Coast wines continue to grow to its full potential, impressive wines in many different styles and diverse aromas and flavors. Many of the most exciting new wines are coming from this region.

With the cork industry's focus on quality, corked wine has decreased significantly since the '90s, but synthetic corks and screw caps continue to grow in popularity, although not at the pace Mr. Parker predicted in 2008.

Robert Parker has contributed to F&W for decades, expounding on wine trends, new producers, and more. Here, he checks in about wine's past, present and future.

Driven by her passion for art and her passion for people, Barbara Katz-Bierman has dedicated herself to painting and to helping others through art. Though known for her vibrant and distinct paintings of women and festive scenes, Katz-Bierman has created some of the most inspiring and moving works as she captures the human spirit with raw expressions of unity and love. Inspired daily by the joys of life and the adversities that we all inherently face as individuals, her paintings erupt with splashes of unbridled color and human emotion, conjuring images of fantasy, truth, idealism and most of all...love. Throughout her career Barbara’s art has garnered the attention of many foundations and charities including the NCCJ (National Conference for Community and Justice) who featured her piece “Painting of Nationalities” in their 42nd Annual Humanities Awards Dinner Auction. She has also donated many works for auction to various charities including the Santa Monica UCLA Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the WISE Senior Services Auction and Westside Breast Cancer Challenge among others. Barbara currently resides in Southern California with her husband and 2 daughters.
