Fresh milled einkorn cinnamon cardamom rolls with grass-fed brown butter icing.

These turned out so soft and tender, with just the right amount of cinnamon and cardamom. The brown butter icing is definitely my favorite part.

We also had fun making mini ones—the kids are trying to make their own cereal, so these needed to be smaller. Made these for the family this morning, and the kitchen smells amazing.

Something new is rising at Brook & Rye… I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want Brook & Rye Morning Rise to be. It was never supposed to be just a place to grab a loaf of bread or a cookie.

I want it to be the kind of little bakery people look forward to — the kind that feels like home.

Everything we make starts with freshly milled wheat berries. No commercially produced flour. Just real ingredients, small batches, and lots of time and love.

And I’m working behind the scenes on something that I’m looking forward to sharing with my community…

Finally perfected our hamburger buns! We know the shape is not perfect as these were just for us and fun/tasty

After many failed attempts, adjustments, and lots of testing, we finally have the soft, fluffy hamburger bun we’ve been working toward.

Fresh milled from whole wheat berries, with the perfect flavor and texture. Soft enough for a juicy burger, but sturdy enough to hold everything together.

We’re so happy with how these turned out and can’t wait to add them to the menu.

Busy day in the kitchen!

I’ve been baking since before the sun came up, and all orders are on track and will be ready for pickup as scheduled!

The kitchen has been busy, but we’re getting it all done.

Cookies in the oven bagels and bread rising. Some orders already out the door!
