🚨It’s Been Fun, But - We’re Done! 🚨

Serving as the staple for our community under various ownership, locations and names for the past 20+ years, we know how important this place has been to Tescott. This is why when the opportunity presented itself, we stepped in to open the doors back up in May of 2022. The Lumberyard has been a passion project for us since the beginning - something we poured our blood, sweat and tears into, all for the sake of preserving a place for our community to be able to come out and enjoy together.

As most of you know, we have actively been trying to sell our establishment for the past several months. After the recent historic flooding in Tescott - with some long-time residents reporting water levels in town exceeding that of 1993, combined with a lot of reflection, we feel that all signs point to now being the right time for us to step away and bring this chapter to a close.

✅ Starting tomorrow - (Thursday, 9/18) all food and drinks will be 25% off, and we will remain open for the subsequent days during normal business hours until everything is gone. Please come out, enjoy a few more nights with us, and help us finish strong.

We are deeply grateful for the support, laughs, and memories we’ve shared with everyone over the past 3 years.

The Lumberyard is still very much for sale - real estate and equipment included. We would also entertain lease options, and will do anything we can to support whoever steps up next to carry the torch. If you or someone you know is an aspiring restauranteur and wants to keep this Tescott staple going, we’d love to talk.

I also want to personally thank our Tescott community for your continued support, and all of our dedicated staff. Every one of you are the heart and soul of what made The Lumberyard great. You’ve made this place the fun, weird, quirky, one-of-a-kind atmosphere it developed a reputation for, and I’m so grateful for all of you dedicating your time and hard work here with us.

We hope to see everyone over the next few days as we close out this chapter together.

How the past few days cleaning up here has us feeling 😴

BUT we are ready to re-open! 🎉

⏰ We will be back open TODAY at 11am! We made a light food order this week, as 2 of our freezers were damaged from the flooding. We apologize in advance, as we are not fully stocked and anticipate running out of a few of our staple items until we are back to full freezer storage capacity.

Additionally, 2 of our 3 HVAC systems were smoked due to the flood, and we are waiting on parts to get those running. We will be serving on the café side only for the time being (west side of building).

We are humbled and very grateful for this generous gesture by Jim's Country Style Chicken! We greatly appreciate them reaching out and offering a lending hand. Please go and show your support (not just tonight) but any day of the week to some great selfless fellow small business owners. Restaurant margins are extremely tight - especially in a small town, and these few days of closure for flood mitigation may not seem like much, but will have a tremendous negative impact on our business.

We have been working diligently the past few days and late into the night getting our place back into shape. We still have a lot to do, and some critical equipment to repair prior to re-opening. We will continue to keep everyone updated here!

We’ve got our work cut out getting this place cleaned back up, but we are thankful it wasn’t any worse than this. Ended up with about 6” of standing water inside. We are getting right to cleaning things up, and are optimistic as long as we don’t run into anymore unforeseen damage that we can be re-opened by the end of the week. We’ll keep everyone posted!

We want to thank our Tescott community, hometown heros and volunteer fire department that helped rescue people from their homes, the utility workers who were on standby all night, first responders, and everyone else who is jumping in and helping with relief and cleanup efforts. Small town USA is alive and well! 🇺🇸 It’s awesome to see everyone step up and lend their neighbors a helping hand in times like these. 🙌 🙏
