Last Night Traveling Home from My Doctors, I Stopped to See What has Been My Home Away from Home for Seven Years..
I am So Saddened to See It Dark and Empty and Sitting So Alone from the Historical Town of Terrell.
The Building that is Now just a Pile of Rubbish, likely to be Buried or Removed Used to be the Building where Cotton was kept until Ready to Go to The Cotton Gin, that was burned down years ago, but some of the Wood kept was the floor of the backroom of the Store. Built by Tim Sherrill..and When the Cotton was Ready, and made into products, Sold in the Store..
Terrell Country Store Is a Love that Holds my Heart, perhaps my Soul, as just the Thought of That Store Being a Pile of Rubbish of What I Saw last night of the Concrete House for Cotton, it's one Side of the Building, Welcoming You to Historic Terrell..
Well, Apparently Historic Terrell, Is Not to Be Historical Anymore..
I have worked with Those who have also Loved this Landmark of Terrell trying to Save Terrell County Store from being a Pile of Rubbish like I Saw Last Nght..
I Saw the Hand Hewn Logs of The Civil War Era in the pile..The Same Logs that The Store was Also Built On..I know because We had to go beneath the Store a few times in our Seven Years of Filling This Store with Handmade Items made from Our Community..Or Our Vendors, selling their Treasures ..and For All the Treasures We Found Over Those Wonderful Seven Years..
Beginning on a New Years Eve Cleaning top to bottom..Having left Over Chicken Wings for Our Dinner, and Sitting at an Antique Coke Table with One Bottle of Spumante.
We spent the night on an Air Mattress..and Never Bothered by the Ghosts who were told lived there too..Awakened to a New Year, and Begin to Bring in Antiques, Collectibles, and Opening in February 2013..Had so Many Locals who wanted to Be a Part of This Great Place, so Our Plans Changed and We Invited All Who Wanted to Begin This Journey with Us..
And, What a Journey It was..Until that Phone Call from the Owner saying We had to be Out by October 1st 2019. And the Store Torn Down..I have tried as well as So many Others, I won't mention by Name Doing Everything We Could to Save Terrell Country Store from being Torn Down..
I Say a Big Thank You to All.
Tears Still Fall, as I Am So Sure the Walls of My Home Away from Home will be Gone..Another Pile of Rubbish.
I Keep My Memories and My Heart Breaks for the Loss of All Our Friends who lived within those walls..Our Friends, the Ghosts of the Past..We said, You're Welcome to Follow Us, as You Watched Over Our Place, Day and Night..and My Heart is Saddened that the Walls are Empty..It Stands Alone..Maybe for a Few More Days..
I dread the Moment When I Hear that the Store is Being Torn Down.
I will want to maybe go and Stand wherever that bulldozer goes..
I just Don't Know What Will Happen..or If My Heart Can Take It.
