Hey everyone. Bobbie here.
Tonight I have to announce that 3.14 will be closing for business, in the mall, on Friday March 28th. We do not know when or where we will be reopening.
No, this is not permanent! No, we are not leaving because we're being evicted, not because the rent was too high (it's actually not high at all), and certainly not because we aren't getting enough business. In fact, Every year we've been open we've done better than the year before. Even when the mall is not busy our customers still come just for us.
The truth is our lease is up at the end of this month and we're just not interested in renewing. We have to grow, and this space is not conducive to that end, so we've decided It's time we leave the nest.
This is very hard for me to announce, because I've put so much of myself into this place. This is ground zero! And man, 3 yrs is a long time for not knowing what the heck I'm doing 😂! I remember Before we even opened there were people on the news station posts saying they give us 6 months tops. Who knew 3 yrs later we'd be one of the most talked about, up and coming, restaurants in town? God Did!
Thawada Alahayam, for going before me into every battle, and for never allowing me to see my own footprints in the sand. I have gone this entire journey never knowing anything, except that you are with me no matter how things turned out, And that is enough. Yahawah Yarah! Halal Yah olam!
We want to thank everyone who ever gave us a chance to show that we belong in the conversation. Thank you to everyone who ever placed an order or even dropped a penny in the tip jar. Our paths have been intertwined forever and I am soooooo grateful for you! Thank you for being a part of my family! Thanks for not walking away when I yelled for Baby Bobbie to come take your order. Or for not judging me when I have to set Stephanie and Harmony straight when they start to bicker. You guys have been watching them grow up right before your eyes, and that is so very cool! I wanted to do a video post about this, but I don't want yall to see me shed no tears lol.
Thank you to Haute City Center for giving us the lane to crawl in, so that we can learn to walk. It was all necessary. Every bump and every bruise. Every misstep and miscommunication along the way. It was all necessary for growth. Thank you for that.
Thank you to all the mall employees that have been regulars even when you don't get back to work on time 😂. Thank you to Mamoon Fakhrudin Matin for pushing me to stretch my cooking skills past my comfort zone. Yall don't know how much he has influenced the food we serve here. Thank you to Rich at Phresh Fits, for the pointers on how they do the Cheese steaks up north. That was the launching pad I started off from to help perfect the cheese steak everybody loves so much today. At one point our cheese steaks were what was keeping the lights on! I owe you for that chief! Fr!
Thank you to the ladies at Ashcroft & Oak Jewelers - Haute City Center / Honey Creek Mall for being my guinea pigs when I got a crazy idea for a new entre😂. Lord it's a wonder they haven't gained 50lbs these past 3 yrs!
Thank you to all of my family, friends and regulars that travel hours to come visit and support 3.14. I promise the best is yet to come! Stay tuned for announcements on the grand closing event on March 28th. Have a good night guys!
