Here is some insight about one The After Partybers from our The After Party band 
You know the songs. You’ve seen the questionable dance moves. But how much do you actually know about the people making all that noise? 😏
We figured it was time for some introductions. Over the next few posts, we’re taking you behind the music to meet the crew that makes up The After Party—one questionable character at a time.
🎸 First up: Kevin!
Kevin Colón was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His musical journey began at the age of 11, when he received his first bass guitar. What seemed like a hobby at the time soon became a true passion. He taught himself to play by ear, dedicating many hours to listening to and studying music.
Together with several childhood friends, he formed Metal XS, a heavy metal band with which he began participating in various talent competitions. At 15, he joined Rainfall, a group that went on to become one of Puerto Rico’s most popular bands. For 15 years, he performed original music and Top 40 hits with them at some of Puerto Rico’s most popular pubs.
Later, he became part of bands such as Cuentas Claras, Secreto, and Cuenta Regresiva. His career also gave him the opportunity to share the stage with renowned artists, including Wilkins and Lourdes Robles.
In 2001, one of the most important projects of his career emerged: Zorro Viejo. This Puerto Rican pop rock and alternative rock band began by performing in bars and gradually won over audiences, eventually reaching major venues, including the Centro de Bellas Artes de Puerto Rico.
As a member of Zorro Viejo, Kevin recorded the album Café de los Rumores, which featured well-known songs such as “Duele Perder.” The song has surpassed 600,000 streams on Spotify. The band also appeared on prominent Puerto Rican television programs and performed at festivals and events for audiences of up to 15,000 people.
Zorro Viejo also blended its sound with urban music through collaborations with Cheka, Juno, and Jomar.
In 2018, Kevin began a new chapter in his life in the United States. Since then, he has performed with various bands specializing in Top 40, alternative rock, and grunge. He is currently a member of City Loud and The After Party.
Music continues to be an essential part of his life. His passion for the bass, discipline, and years of experience have made him a respected and admired musician. Kevin practices constantly, and when he is not onstage, he enjoys spending his time composing original music.
