Another way we maintain that our gardens stay pesticide free, is wasps!!
They’re one of the most disliked creatures around, but to a gardener, they are precious stock! (Even with the occasional sting while harvesting grapes or pruning bushes.)
Wasps are only aggressive near their nests or when physically threatened, any other time they’re just meandering the gardens like us, looking for a snack.
Although their snacks are not fruits on the vine, they’re the little worms munching on the fruits on the vine.
Here is a great example of just that, a wasp taking care of a larger army worm, crushing it up into a ball to bring back to its nest.
We thank you wasps! For keeping the unwanted critters off of our crops!
