We have heard the community’s questions about why Community Co-op Market has not yet publicly commented on or reshared Wis Benoît message.
Our Board is currently leading communications and discussions regarding the future of the co-op. We have been careful not to speak ahead of that process or share information before it was publicly communicated by the Board. Now that Board member Wis Benoit has shared his perspective publicly, we are resharing his message so our members and the greater Tallahassee community can read it directly.
As Wis shared, Community Co-op Market needs to generate approximately $120,000 in weekly sales to operate sustainably. In recent years, our weekly sales have typically remained between $100,000 and $110,000. Although our staff has worked hard to increase sales, improve efficiency and create a better shopping experience, a financial gap remains.
Here is what gives us hope: Community Co-op Market has approximately 2,800 active members. If each member spent just $30 more per month at the co-op, we could exceed our monthly sales goals.
Your support right now can make a meaningful difference. Stop in for your weekly groceries, purchase from our local farmers and independent vendors, explore our current deals and invite someone new to shop with us. You do not have to be a member to shop, everyone is welcome.
Our doors are open, and our team remains here to serve you. Please continue following our page for official updates from the Board. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shared our story and continued supporting your community-owned grocery store. 💚
