Let us introduce you to your next hyperfixation meal 👀 This is The Brian Bowl 🥣🍽️ 😋

Brian was one of the first residents to call Independence Landing home when it opened nearly 3 years ago. He was also one of our first “regulars” at The Press Cafe, where we always look forward to seeing his smiling face during lunch service. Since becoming a part of our community, we have seen Brian build friendships, grow his confidence, and fall in love with customizing his daily meals.

His latest go-to has been the build your own Super Bowl with penne pasta, Cuban style house roasted mojo pork, grape tomatoes, and diced yellow onion, topped with a generous helping of cheddar cheese and Cuban mojo sauce.

Stop by The Press Cafe today to see why this is Brian’s current favorite combo, and wish him well as he just went back to his job with Leon County Schools where he’s worked for over 5 years!

Meet the faces behind Tallahassee’s best hidden gem. We are The Press Cafe, & this is Amanda.

Amanda is a Tallahassee native who was one of the first residents to move into Independence Landing when it opened nearly 3 years ago.

If you’ve ever dined in with us, you’ve most likely had the pleasure of Amanda taking your order.

Inside The Press Cafe, we knew the job of cashier was an important one. That initial greeting when you walk into a place for the first time can make or break the experience. Luckily for us, Amanda made it. Since day one, she’d been eager to make each and every customer feel valued, heard, and welcomed in our space.

After nearly 3 months of working as our cashier, Amanda says she has felt her social skills and confidence levels skyrocket. What may seem like small, repetitive conversations are what she most looks forward to throughout her day.

At The Press Cafe, we’re more than your favorite weekday lunch spot. We’re a workforce development program located inside of Independence Landing whose mission is to provide adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities like Amanda with the skills they need to build their independence, confidence, and self-sufficiency. Because everyone deserves a seat at the table. 💚
