A traditional Ethiopian kirar used by Mary Armide (1923–1981), known as the "Queen of Kirar" and a pioneering Ethiopian blues artist, was donated to the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC). Renowned for her mesmerizing voice, witty double-meaning lyrics, and unique playing style, her legacy is forever etched in the history of Ethiopian music. It is a great honor and privilege to hold an iconic piece of history preserved at the EBC Museum.

The meeting last Thursday with Mr. William Holton and his team at the U.S. Mission to the African Union was a significant step forward for our efforts. We were able to successfully present the Benefit Corporation for Africa (BCA) initiative and engage in productive discussions around two key requests: the co-hosting of the BCA Information Session and Press Conference by the AU and USMAU, and a sit-down interview with Ambassador Stephanie Sullivan. The interview aims to explore the mandate of the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement (PAC-ADE), with a focus on strengthening U.S.-Africa relations, increasing diaspora involvement in trade and investment, and promoting educational exchanges between both regions.
