β€οΈππ€ Happy Juneteenth β€οΈππ€
Today we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of freedom finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, culture, family, and community. It is a time to reflect on our shared history and recognize the contributions of Black Americans who have helped shape our nation.
As a Black woman-owned family business, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and continue a tradition of hospitality, good food, and togetherness.
We're open today and would love to welcome you in for a meal with family and friends.
Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Southern Kitchen! β€οΈππ€
