Our followers are GROWING!! So what a perfect way to show a little "Behind the Business at CRO" đ¤
Before Christy and Dexter Martin were the faces behind the counter, they were two young people trying to figure out life together.
Both went to Sequoyah High School. Neither went to college. In 2013, Their plans changed, and they began building a life that looked different than they had expected. But God was there through it all.
Thirteen years together, two beautiful children, and a whole lot of life later⌠here they are.
Christy was able to stay home with both babies until daycare age, and their family traveled with Dexter for his maintenance work. Those years were full of memories, hard work, and learning as they went. Life hasnât always been peaches and cream. There have been hard seasons, but they kept showing up for their family, working through things, and praying even harder.
Somewhere along the way, CRO became part of their story. They were regular customers, and Christy carried a quiet dream of one day owning the little coffee shop they loved.
Then Dexter walked in one day and asked, âIs the shop for sale?â
It was.
A simple question became the beginning of a chapter that now has both of them working full time at CRO, right here in the town they call home.
But they arenât just coffee shop owners. Theyâre still Mom and Dad to two children they love dearly. Theyâre rental property owners and Sweetwater Ambassadors, too, balancing those responsibilities alongside the shop and family life. Behind the counter are two people wearing a lot of hats, doing their best to show up for their community while making time for the everyday moments with their childrenâthe little things they know theyâll one day miss.
When you ask Christy and Dexter what they want people to know about CRO, they donât start with the coffee.
âWe want people to feel loved and accepted. We donât want anyone to feel judged when they walk through our doors. We want everyone to know theyâre welcome.â
That comes from knowing life can be hard. From knowing that you can smile and still be carrying something heavy. From understanding how much a little kindness can mean when youâre just trying to make it through the day.
Whether youâre celebrating something good, having a rough morning, or simply needing a place to sit for a while, they hope you feel comfortable at CRO. You donât have to have it all together to belong here.
Their children are growing up in Sweetwater schools and local childcare. These are the people they see at school, around town, and across the counter each morning. This community is helping raise their family, and they want to give something meaningful back. Serving as Sweetwater Ambassadors is another way they get to support the town and the people who mean so much to them.
Through the busy mornings, long days, and all the work that comes with owning a business, theyâre so thankful this is the dream they get to wake up and live each day. What was once a âmaybe somedayâ is now part of their everyday life, and that means more than they can put into words.
Theyâre just as thankful for the employees who share those days with them. The ones who show up, work hard, laugh alongside them, and care for the people coming through the doors. Each one brings something special to CRO, and Christy and Dexter are grateful they get to build this dream with them.
Behind CRO is a husband and wife who are still learning, still praying, and still trusting God with each next step. Theyâre thankful for their team, their community, and every person who helps keep this little dream growing.
Their hope is that you leave with more than a good cup of coffee.
That you leave feeling seen. Feeling welcome. And knowing someone was glad you came. đ¤
