Four years.
This Saturday, the Braxton Bistro celebrates its 4th birthday.
To celebrate, the Bistro will be CLOSED Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9 as we take our Bistro family on a much-deserved staff retreat. We know it may be an inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your understanding as we take this time to celebrate the incredible people who make this place possible.
Four years ago, we opened our doors with one goal: to serve Braxton County.
Since then, we've shared thousands of meals, catered countless celebrations, supported local organizations, donated meals, volunteered our time, laughed with you, cried with you, and watched so many friendships grow around our tables. This community has become part of our family. And this past year...our family needed you.
When our family faced the hardest fight of their lives, our world stopped. But, the rest of the world had to keep moving.
For nearly six months, we weren't focused on running a restaurant. We were focused on being parents and grandparents.
That's when our staff stepped in without hesitation.
They didn't just come to work. They carried this business. They handled every challenge, every busy lunch, every catering order, every question, every problem. They checked on our family, watched our homes and our dogs, prayed with us, cried with us, and reminded us every single day that we were never carrying this burden alone. They aren't just employees. They are family.
People often say, "It's your business." The truth is, it has never felt like it belongs only to us.
It belongs to the people who have built their careers here. It belongs to the team that pours their hearts into every meal. And in many ways, it belongs to this community that has chosen to support us for four years.
Owning a small business in Sutton isn't easy. We've made mistakes. We've learned lessons. We've had seasons where it would have been easier to walk away. But this community has always been worth staying for.
So this weekend, we're celebrating the people who made sure the lights stayed on when we couldn't be here. Thank you to our incredible staff for your loyalty, your sacrifices, your love, and your faithfulness.
Thank you to our customers for every meal you've shared with us, every kind word, every recommendation, every prayer, and every bit of support over these past four years. We couldn't have made it here without any of you.
