BIG BAM BOO Tea Room We closed our tea shop in March 2023. We still live in Sunbury and offer a variety of services online and by appointment. We make herbal remedy teas.

What's bothering you, (headache, stress, blood pressure, etc) We'll blend a tea to help you feel better. We teach Tai Chi and other martial arts. We also have classes in bamboo flute making, tea blending and pressure point self care. Preston started Kung Fu in 1978. Barbara started when they met in 1987. Together, they have been learning, teaching and helping people feel better. Come enjoy a unique experience and a free personally blended cup of tea.

SUNBURY COMMUNITY POOL….. I want to clarify our swim lessons at the pool. I have received numerous questions about lessons so I’m going to clear up 99% of the questions. Here we go……

Will there be lessons on July 4?
Yes there will be

If it’s raining are there still lessons?
Yes…..lessons run rain or shine. If thunder or lightening they are brought into the lobby to watch a video on swim safety

With the wild fires and smoke are they having lessons?
Yes…….until the governor issues a state of emergency and deems all outdoor activity canceled there will be lessons

If my child misses a lesson will they get in trouble or made fun of?
ABSOLUTELY NO……our objective is not to ridicule or hold grudge against a student who misses.

The objective of having lessons is to instruct kids to swim and have life saving techniques. We want our paying patrons to get the most for their lessons. It is solely up to the parents if they bring them. I hope this helps !!

I heard that Penn Dot doesn't want to close Market St on both sides of Cameron Park for Sunbury's Christmas in July festival. I went to their website and shared my concern on the "Contact Us" page.
There will be a lot of children at this event as well as many people who use motorized wheelchairs and scooters. Allowing regular traffic right next to the festival is dangerous, in my opinion.
