OCTOBER AT ASTERIA
The air gets crisp, the evenings get darker, and suddenly a scoop of something rich and decadent feels like exactly the right way to spend an evening. This fall, we’ve been having a little fun with our flavors, featuring everything from sophisticated seasonal combinations to wonderfully over-the-top Halloween creations.
And, as always, everything at Asteria is crafted in-house by our pastry chef, Abbey, using carefully sourced ingredients and plenty of imagination. Real cream, real ingredients, and a little bit of magic.
GOURMET OCTOBER FLAVORS
We’ve given some of our classics a subtle autumnal upgrade, starting with a few familiar favorites. Our vanilla has become a thicker, richer Vanilla Custard made with egg yolks and Tahitian vanilla, while our beloved chocolate has taken a tangy turn with Buttermilk Chocolate.
For something distinctly fall, try our Pumpkin Spice Latte: pumpkin spice cold brew ice cream layered with ribbons of our house-made caramel.
Pumpkin Cheesecake is rich and decadent, with pumpkin cream cheese ice cream, cheesecake ribbons, and pieces of graham cracker crust.
Apple Butter brings all the warmth of an autumn orchard, swirling our classic sweet cream base with house-made apple butter. And, of course, our Caramel Apple remains a fall favorite.
For something a little more unexpected, explore these intriguing creations: Fig & Rosemary and The Northerner. Fig & Rosemary is a rosemary-infused ice cream with delicate notes of fig jam. The Northerner, on the other hand, is truly one of a kind: smoked pine ice cream. Yes, pine. Smoky, woodsy, and sophisticated, it’s an adventurous flavor for the curious palate, conjuring the essence of northern forests in every bite.
And we’re not finished yet. Later in October, look for Maple Bacon, Cherry Almond, and a cozy Chai to join the lineup.
A LITTLE MORE PUMPKIN
And for those who believe pumpkin season should be celebrated in every possible form, meet The Great Pumpkin: a warm pumpkin bar topped with Pumpkin Cheesecake ice cream, whipped cream, a dash of cinnamon, and toasted pepitas.
DATE NIGHT TAKES FLIGHT
Looking for an October date night that doesn’t involve squeezing into a crowded bar?
Try an Asteria four-scoop flight. For $12, you and your boo can split four flavors and turn dessert into its own little tasting experience. It’s a particularly good excuse to sample our fall flavors by the scoop.
Or keep things low-key with one of our Dirty Sodas. Cold, fizzy, and a little unexpected, they make for a charming after-dinner treat.
And with the bookstore right next door, you can easily turn ice cream into an entire evening: browse a little, get a scoop, wander downtown, and call it a date.
Of course, we couldn’t let October pass without getting a little spooky.
Monster Mash is the cookie-lover’s dream: our house-made vanilla, naturally tinted with blue pea powder, mixed with chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, chocolate chip cookie dough, and rainbow sprinkles.
For something extra-terrestrial, try Boo-Berry: sweet blueberry ice cream with Boo Berry cereal and little marshmallows.
And later this month, the Halloween magic gets even stranger.
Blood Moon will bring a blood orange sorbet with just enough bite to awaken your inner vampire. Witches Brew will come fresh from the cauldron with matcha ice cream and fudge. Reese’s Explosion is, well, exactly what it sounds like.
Then there’s our Halloween week special:
Graveyard
Chocolate donut, cherry jam, a scoop of Witches Brew, crushed Oreos, gummy worms, and white chocolate gravestones.
Bring the little haunts. Bring your trick-or-treating crew. Or indulge your own inner child.
ASTERIA AFTER DARK
Plenty of reasons to make a trip downtown this October.
On Friday, October 23, Sun Prairie Witches Night Out takes over downtown Sun Prairie and Cannery Square from 4–8 PM. We’ll be here for the festivities, and the evening will be filled with shopping, treats, games, mystery, magic, and plenty of witchy mischief.
Then on Thursday, October 29, from 2–5 PM, stop by for Business Spooktacular. We’ll hand out candy to all our favorite little monsters, and it’s another good reason to come downtown.
Whether you’re stopping in after a night downtown, bringing the kids for something spooky, or settling in for a four-scoop tasting with someone special, October at Asteria is meant to be savored.
