Buster's Saloon

Buster's Saloon An iconic bar and grill surrounded by the scenic Gyp Hills serving the best BBQ besides your own! Sun City had an early start in Kansas.
(591)

The town was established in 1871 by George Walker through the installation of the trading post. Sun City was officially settled in 1873. A stockade was built in 1874 due to indian raids in the area. The school house was built in 1875 and by 1885, Sun City had two hotels, three livery barns, two dry goods stores, three grocery stores, a bank, hardware store, and a shoe shop. The schoolhouse and the

bank still stand today on either side of Buster's Saloon, which is contained in the former hardware store. From hardware store, to ice cream shop, to saloon, Buster's is as rich with history as the town of Sun City. The walls of this iconic Kansas cowboy bar are laden with photographs of the towns younger and wilder days of Marion McClain's legendary rodeos. Stop in for a bit of history and Buster Hathaway's famous frosted fishbowls, great food, and live music! For booking, please send inquiries to [email protected]
