Celebrating Carissa Hermsmeyer: The Jack of All Trades

Cheers to 25 years of nonstop dedication!

Carissa’s coffee journey began as a barista in 1996, when she was trained by our own Chris Heyer. She later joined the Dillanos family through Atomic Distributing, selling “everything but the milk.”

Today, as Chief of Staff and National Sales and Marketing Manager, Carissa has a hand in nearly everything—from sales and business development to Barista 22, e-commerce, our retail website, and storefront.

As Carissa puts it: “I’ve been fortunate to continually take on new challenges and grow along with the company.“

Through every role, Carissa has been a leader, teacher, problem-solver, and friend. Her knowledge is matched only by her willingness to share it and help those around her grow.

After 25 years, that PTO is well earned. Have the best time in Europe next summer!

To mark the milestone, we created a limited-edition 40th Anniversary Blend that reflects both where we’ve been and where we’re headed. A rare Black Honey Ethiopia micro lot brings vibrant character, while one of our treasured Costa Rican coffees provides the balance and consistency we’ve long been known for.

The result is a medium-light roast with aromas of pastry, notes of baked apple and caramel, and a smooth pecan finish.
