KatiBugs Catering

KatiBugs Catering I'm a personal chef based in Coastal Virginia bringing healthy options for your favorite foods. I'm a Portsmouth based caterer starting my own catering company.

I started catering in high school when I went to Norfolk Technical Center. I continued my education at Johnson and Wales University where I am studying for my bachelors degree in food service management. I have an associates of science in Culinary Arts from the same school. I have worked to be a chef my whole life. Not just cooking at home for my family or by going to school, but I have also worked as a personal chef and worked under several caterers in the area.

So this started as “what if a cinnamon roll was a pizza”… and somehow turned into this 😂

I used a roll of pizza dough (Pillsbury), added sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, onions, and picked peppers…

Then rolled it up, sliced it like cinnamon rolls, and baked it.

And I’m not even gonna lie—this came out REALLY good.

It’s soft, cheesy, easy to reheat, and perfect for lunch this week.

Sometimes the simple ideas are the best ones.

Would you try this?

Cottage cheese… but make it dessert 😍
Half homemade blueberry + raspberry jelly
Half Nutella
All topped with fresh whipped cream
Creamy, sweet, a little tangy—and somehow still high protein??
This might be my new favorite sweet snack 💭
Would you try this combo or are you judging me?? 👀

This weekend was all about getting our hands dirty 🌱💚
We planted the garden—peppers, tomatoes, basil, and a few more things I can’t wait to cook with 👀
There’s just something different about growing your own food… it hits different when it’s straight from your backyard to your plate.
AND this has me even more excited because I just dropped a new blog talking about my cookbook 👩🏽‍🍳✨
All these recipes I’ve been making (and growing for) are finally coming together in one place.
If you’ve been rocking with me, you already know… this cookbook is about to be something special.
👉🏽 Blog is up now — go check it out & tell me what recipes YOU want in it!

Love doesn’t expire on February 14th 💕
These homemade Valentine’s pop-tarts were my sweet little reminder that you can celebrate whenever you feel like it. Flaky, fruity, and way better than the boxed ones — and yes, I wrote the full blog with all the details (and my healthier twist 😉).
If you missed Valentine’s Day, that’s fine. We’re making it last over here at Kati’s Flavor Lab.

💕 Valentine’s Special from Kati’s Flavor Lab 💕
Vodka + Tequila Rose + chocolate liqueur + Pink Slush Alani = chocolate-covered strawberry energy in a glass.
She’s creamy. She’s sweet. She’s a little dangerous.
Tastes like strawberries dipped in chocolate that made questionable decisions.
Yes, I measured with the jigger. We do cute AND professional over here.
This is the kind of signature cocktail you can expect when you book Kati’s Flavor Lab for your next event — from intimate date nights to full party vibes.
Would you serve this for date night or Galentine’s? 👀👇
Comment “VALENTINE” if you want the exact measurements

This week’s drink is for the “I want it fancy but fast” crowd 🥃✨ My Blackberry Whiskey Ginger skips the muddling and uses blackberry ginger ale for that smooth berry sweetness + spicy ginger bite in one pour. Add whiskey, ice, and boom — bold, crisp, and dangerously easy to sip. This one tastes like it belongs at a bar, but it’s straight from my kitchen. Would you try it? 🍹💜

Cozy spaghetti night 🍝 but behind the scenes I’m chasing BIG dreams. Just posted a new blog about what that journey really looks like — the messy middle and all. Go read it 💛✨

Pineapple + lemon + pomegranate + bubbles = main character drink.
Light, fruity, and way too easy to sip.
Your party deserves more than soda and a sad bottle of wine 🫣

Today’s lunch is bringing the flavor passport out ✈️🍜
Fresh, savory, a little saucy, and way better than takeout. This is your sign that homemade Asian-inspired bowls just hit different.
