WE BOUGHT A FARM!!!! ( sort of…) What we actually bought was some coffee processing equipment for one of favorite producers, Andres Cardona, and in exchange, he gave us piece of land with coffee shrubs on it. Each harvest is ours and we could not be more excited. This is our first lot of coffee where we own the trees and were involved in the first harvest and we decided the processing. We anxiously awaited as it moved through the export process. Now it is finally here…
This is “Primer Paso” which translates to “first step” because it is the first step for us in owning the coffee shrubs and learning the ins and outs of growing coffee at origin. This coffee is extremely limited as the first harvest of a coffee shrub is usually quite small. In our case we received just under 50 kg. Each week we will release one roast at a time, rested for one week, with different roast profiles as we learn more about our coffee. It will be sold in 8oz bags for $20. There will be 10 available at our cafe and 10 available online starting tomorrow morning at 8:00 am. Once sold out, it will release again with different roast profile next Saturday.
