After a lot of tears, stress, prayer, and hard conversations, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Crossroads Espresso.
Tuesday, May 26th will officially be our last day open.
This decision was not made lightly. Truthfully, I have probably held on longer than I should have because I loved this little shop so much and truly believed I could keep pushing through. I poured everything I had into Crossroads financially, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
What started as a dream became something so much bigger than I ever imagined. We became Stuart’s first coffee shop, a stop for travelers on Highway 20, a morning routine for locals, and a place filled with conversations, laughter, friendships, and support from this community.
Over the last year, life brought major personal and financial changes that deeply impacted both me and the business. Navigating those changes while trying to continue operating Crossroads eventually became more than I could financially and emotionally sustain on my own. As much as my heart wanted to keep fighting for this business, I can no longer continue sinking deeper trying to keep the doors open.
I truly hoped I would be able to sell Crossroads so it could continue serving this community, but unfortunately that process became more complicated than anticipated and ultimately was not able to happen in time.
I am heartbroken. My pride is hurt. This shop was never “just coffee” to me. It represented independence, dreams, risk, growth, and community. Letting go is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
As we finish out these last couple weeks, I also need to make some temporary operating changes to help reduce payroll and operating expenses.
Starting Thursday, May 14th Crossroads will only be open until NOON daily instead of 2 PM through our final day of operation. Unfortunately, business traffic simply has not been busy enough during those afternoon hours to justify staying open later.
We will also be CLOSED Friday, May 15th.
Between now and closing day, please understand that I will not be restocking inventory or supplies, so once we are out of something, we are out.

Thank you for every coffee run, every shared post, every tip, every conversation at the window, every smile, every kind word, and every bit of support you gave me and this business.
Crossroads Espresso will always mean more to me than words can explain.
