🚜 Harvest is a busy time of year, but don’t forget to check in on yourself and the people around you.

Take a break when you need one. Check in on a neighbor, friend, or family member. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and remember that taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of the crop.

Let’s make it a safe and successful harvest season.

🌾 Red Crown Rot vs SDS vs Normal Senescence 🌾

Yellow patches in soybeans? Don’t assume it’s just maturity or SDS.

Red Crown Rot – Interveinal yellowing like SDS, but dig the plants: look for reddish crown at the soil line + tiny red spheres (perithecia) on the lower stem/roots. Roots often rotted.

Sudden Death Syndrome – Same leaf symptoms. Leaves drop but petioles stay attached. Split the stem → white pith. Sometimes blue fungal growth on roots.

Normal Senescence – Uniform yellowing as the crop matures (R6–R8). No red stems, no fungal balls, no patchy dead spots while the rest of the field is green.

Get out and dig. When in doubt, send samples to your diagnostic lab.

🚩 What do those flags in the corn field mean?

They're a reminder that yield potential depends on more than just plant numbers. Healthy, uniform stands are just as important as population. Our seed quality testing ensures we help you to have both high quantity and high quality stand counts. Quality plants now equal maximum ear potential later.

Don't choose between quantity and quality, great yields come from having both.

🌱 Here's to the dads who taught us how to check stands, read the weather, and appreciate the rewards of a hard day's work.

Happy Father's Day to the farmers, agronomists, and ag leaders who continue to invest in the next generation both in the field and at home. Thank you for all that you do.

🌽 Planting may be finished, but your data work isn't!

Now is a great time to review planting maps and confirm all hybrids were logged correctly. At FLG, we work with growers to identify and correct any mapping errors so harvest results are as accurate and meaningful as possible. 📈

Sidedress season is approaching! 🌱

Weather patterns, manure nutrient availability, and stand quality can all impact your nitrogen needs. Let our team help with stand assessments, pre-sidedress nitrate testing, and application recommendations to make confident decisions and maximize your hybrids/nitrogen management plan. 📞🌽

Our Nitrogen Rate x Hybrid testing for sidedress has begun. Past results have shown some very interesting responses and we are excited to see how they come in this year for our AgriGold , Corteva Agriscience and Syngenta hybrids!!
