Good Morning Friends
Happy Monday
I'm a little late to my post today, because I have had an intentionally slow morning reading a book, and sipping on my coffee while it's still hot.
I don't know about you, but as a small business owner, my brain never stops. I don't have set days off, so I have to be intentional with down time.
I wake up thinking about all of the things I have to do that day (and try and push even more in than should be humanly possible). It works in the small business owner realm, but it doesn't always work with being human 😉.
If you haven't noticed lately, I've been doing a lot more "where am I?" posts. That's because I've been trying to slow down and be a little more intentional with the term 'balance'.
One of my favorite things I've allowed my brain to enjoy, is walks around Stillwater. Oftentimes I throw my headphones on, put my sunglasses on, and just go. Lately, my family has come with me.
During these walks, to slow my brain down, I often think of the word 'Gratitude'. When my brain flips the switch from business owner to the Gratitude realm, everything seems to feel so much more alive and fresh on these walks. I feel gratitude with each beautiful flower I pass, each historic sign I've never bothered reading, and actually look and pay attention to the gorgeous views Stillwater seems to have with each turn.
This was last night's sunset view from the top of Second street by Pioneer Park. These views remind me how grateful I am to grow up, live, and work in this valley.
If you've been feeling overwhelmed or just trying to figure out how to unwind from the craziness of life, I highly recommend getting out and going for a walk around Stillwater. You can even make a pit stop for a cup of coffee halfway through for some extra motivation 😉. The hills can be a beast, but the views are worth it. You are worth it ♥️
