We’ve entered Phase 2 of the long Michigan goodbye, where everyone is standing by the door, sharing memories. It’s one of the best parts. We’re reminiscing about our favorite Wurst(s) of the Week(s) and our favorite people. Remember that time, we added peaches and cream cheese to a hot dog? Yeah! Good times! 🤗

BTW we wanted to mention a reminder: when we get extremely busy, we shut down the phones and do not take call-in orders. Also, we may need to pause online ordering, for a bit, if it gets overwhelming for the kitchen. Hopefully, today we can make it the entire day, but at this point we have to play it by ear. Yesterday, we went thru 4 days of food in one day and sold out a wee bit early. Luckily, we procured an extra delivery, so most of the items that we ran out of are back.😅

Thank you again to everyone who has shown up to support us. We apologize for the extra wait time, and promise we’re moving as fast as we can.🏃‍♂️

🌭🌭🌭Welp! We guess this is goodbye. Actually, this Saturday is the end, but since a typical Michigan farewell is long and drawn out, we wanted to get a jump start so we can pull it off by then. Doggone it, what can we say, this is bittersweet, and we will miss all the good friends we’ve met along the way. So in typical DogSlinger snark, we’ve decided to name our final Wurst of the Week the “Doggone It.”

The “Doggone It” begins with a premium Vienna Beef Hot Dog or plant-based dog on a poppyseed bun that is topped with a scoop of our own Apple Wasabi Slaw. That’s it; a simple dog with a fresh, yet complicated flavor punch. We start with tart Michigan apples, some shredded cabbage, a few carrots and chopped green onion. Then we whipped up a creamy wasabi mayo blend to mix in, thus creating that perfect blend which is reminiscent of the DogSlinger team - fresh, spicy, sweet, tart and a little bit salty. We plan to carry the “Doggone It” all week, so stop in for lunch and/or dinner to grab this and your other favorites before our final day on Saturday.

And YES, we did up our inventory order this week by as much as our little kitchen can hold, so hopefully it will get us through every single day until the very end🤞🤞, because Doggone It, we hate to sell out early and disappoint our friends.🌭🌭🌭

Wow, thank you everyone for such a spectacular day! Unfortunately, we depleted 3 days of food in one day! We can’t possibly open tomorrow, because we just don’t have enough food and our delivery isn’t until next week. So we are closed tomorrow, Saturday, August 22nd. We will be back Tuesday, August 25th, with fresh stock and our final Wurst of the Week!

Wow! Everyone and their brother and mother and father and sister have showed up for lunch! Thank you for the support. Unfortunately, we have sold for the day and have to shut down to replenish! Fresh deliveries in the morning and we will be back tomorrow with our full menu!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that after 5-1/2 years, DogSlinger (Stevensville, MI) will close its doors on August 31st, 2026. We have not come to this decision lightly, and plan to take some time to regroup, and evaluate our next course of action regarding the business.

We are deeply grateful to the many people we’ve met and who supported us over the years; especially those who started as strangers, but quickly became friends. Most of all, we are thankful for our incredible employees, who stood with us over this time.

🌭🌭🌭We love showcasing our area's best produce, and this week we picked up some blueberries from our farm stand friends over at Alex's Veggies so Josh could whip up a batch of his delicious house-made blueberry barbecue sauce for our Wurst of the Week, the "Blue Ribbon."

The Blue Ribbon starts with your choice of an all-beef Vienna Beef Hot Dog or a plant-based dog in a warm brioche bun. Then we top it with some melty shredded cheddar cheese, our crispy onion strings and a generous drizzle of that beautiful blueberry barbecue sauce. It's sweet, tangy and salty and the most appropriate dog to run during Fair Week!

🌭🌭🌭 We have a real southern charmer for our Wurst of the Week, the "Bless Your Heart."

This week we bring you the "Bless Your Heart." This dog starts with your choice of a fried Bacon-Wrapped Vienna Beef Hot Dog or plain Plant-Based Dog on a soft, warm Brioche Bun. Then we top it with a classic cheesy pimento spread (AKA Southern Pâté), slivers of raw red onion, and some of our sweet hot pickles.

Y'all are in for a real treat!🌭🌭🌭
