WIRMC is an annual conference that runs around the end of February every year. It is hosted in partnership by the Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin (AROW), the Solid Waste Association of North America - Badger Chapter (SWANA), and the Wisconsin Counties Solid Waste Management Association (WCSWMA). Every year WIRMC is sponsored by a number of extraordinary businesses that make the conference possib
le. These businesses and others are featured in a large exhibit hall of roughly 60 booths, all various types of businesses and organizations related to solid waste management. The hall is open throughout the conference, along with networking and socializing opportunities taking place in and around the area. These talks may be about updates in the recycling market, various types of alternative daily covers for landfills, a panel discussion on various types of organics collection programs, how to economically optimize your solid waste department, and many, many other topics. Proposals may be submitted by anyone, and are reviewed by the WIRMC planning committee. A full conference registration includes access to all of these talks, the exhibit hall, the awards luncheon, hot breakfast buffet in the mornings, as well as all of the social / networking events.
