Neu im Ausschank: Weizenbock (& Germany is playing today at 12PM) 🇩🇪🍻

Meet our latest release: the Weizenbock. This is a beer with deep roots in Bavarian brewing tradition, a marriage of the wheat beer style and the bock's rich, warming character. Pours a hazy, amber color with a dense head. The nose opens with ripe banana and clove from the hefeweizen yeast, layered underneath with toasted bread and dark fruit. On the palate it's full-bodied and velvety, with notes of caramelized malt and a warming finish. Higher in alcohol (6.9% ABV) than a classic Weißbier but deceptively smooth: this one drinks like a celebration in a glass.

And today of all days? Come in, grab one, and watch Die Mannschaft take the pitch against Curaçao in their World Cup opener. Kickoff at noon. We've got the game on, the food is ready, and cold German beers perfect for the occasion.

We are especially excited to cheer on Switzerland, Germany, and the USA all summer long 😉

We are showing every World Cup match at Great Heart when we are open on all TVs. For all Switzerland, Germany, and USA games we will have the sound on through our restaurant. Grab a pilsner and join us for the world's biggest sporting event.

Morgen ist es soweit. 🇺🇸🇩🇪

Tomorrow the USA takes on Germany in the World Cup send-off match in Chicago and we’ll be streaming it here at Great Heart with full sound. Kickoff is at 1:30pm.

There might not be a better place in St. Louis to watch this one. Two teams, two countries, one Bierhall that loves them both. Grab your Maß and come cheer- in whatever language you prefer.

In Germany, the Stammtisch is sacred. It's a reserved table, marked with a sign just like this one, where regulars gather, week after week, to talk, argue, laugh, and put the world right over a beer. The word comes from Stamm (tribe or trunk🪾) and Tisch (table). Your people. Your table.

It's not a reservation in the modern sense. It's a tradition. A belonging. A local at a Stammtisch doesn't need to check in. Everyone already knows they're coming.

We love that we have so many Stammgäste here, all of whom feel like friends now. Some who even started their own German-speaking Stammtisch right here at the bar and others who gifted pictures we could add to our walls.

We don't have a designated Stammtisch table yet, but when we came across this sign, it just felt like ours. Maybe someday? For now, every table is a Stammtisch and we cannot wait to see you again ♥️🍺

New beer release: Pils du Soleil ☀️ So many of you asked us to bring back our Sonnenpilsner- we heard you. This time we brewed it with all French hops from the Alsace region: light, crisp, with the softest floral finish. Made for warmer days; and perfect for the long weekend. You'll find us sipping this in the sun all day. Our neighbors just made our Biergarten look so pretty and it is the perfect spot to enjoy this Bier 🌼☀️

Today is Helena's birthday 🎉
I couldn’t imagine building this without her. She’s the one who brings the German into our German restaurant 🇩🇪❤️ From helping shape every detail of Great Heart to welcoming everyone through our doors, she pours her heart into this place every single day.

We’ll be here all day celebrating, and she’s excited to see so many familiar faces stop by for a beer, pretzel, or just to say hi 🍻
